Mit „Crown Jewels Vol. 1“ (BC100LP) werden nicht die Kronjuwelen verscherbelt, sondern stolz präsentiert. Big Crown Records präsentiert die erste Label Compilation mit einigen (mir) bekannten und unbekannten Künstlern. Zwölf Tracks haben auf dem wunderbar souligen »Fools Gold Colored Vinyl« Platz gefunden. Label Co-Boss Leon Michels ist natürlich mit El Michels Affair auch an Bord. Neben ihm und seiner Kappelle ist ein großartiger Querschnitt der 2016 gegründeten Record Company zu entdecken und zu bewundern. Exzellente Zusammenstellung, die mich schon jetzt nach Vol. 2 lechzen lässt.
Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Lee Fields & The Expressions – It Rains Love“, „Lady Wray – Guilty“ und „Brainstory – Dead End“. Die Platte ist direkt bei Big Crown, bei Bandcamp sowie in den hiesigen Online-Shops von HHV Records und JPC erhältlich.

Das Tape „Sidenote – The Jazz Jousters dig 1969“, dass über das Londoner Label Millennium Jazz Music (MJM154) erschienen ist, lag jetzt schon eine ganze Weile relativ unbeachtet auf meinem Schreibtisch. Und das hat es definitiv nicht verdient. Die Jazz Jousters begaben sich für diese Compilation ins Jahr 1969 und haben sich wahrscheinlich durch mehrere Tonnen Jazz-Vinyl gehört. Das Resultat ist ein prall gefülltes Magnetband mit entspannten Beats und jazzigen Samples. Jazzhop vom allerfeinsten! Manchmal lohnt sich ein genauerer Blick auf den Schreibtisch … ;-)

Allesamt natürlich wieder eine dicke Empfehlung aus dem Vinyl-41-HQ.

Wer hätte das gedacht?! Nach 40 Tage – 40 Nächte geht es um Liebe und Hass. Die Compilations „Impetus Vol. 3: Love und Vol. 4: Hate“ sind wieder über das Wiener Underground HipHop Label Heiße Luft erschienen. Jeweils 150 Kopien wurden auf die Tape Decks der Welt verteilt bzw. warten darauf verteilt zu werden.
Die Auswahl der Beatschmiede ist wieder phänomenal verlaufen. (Mir) bekannte Produzenten wie Ebbe Funk, Hydrogenii, Isaac Haze oder Audi Bamer treffen auf (mir) unbekannte Soundbastler. Was beide Gruppen vereint, sind die verdammt fetten Beats. Damit sind beide Tapes randvoll gefüllt. Grossartige Compilation(s) und ein weiteres Highlight aus dem Hause Heiße Luft. Des is leiwand!
