Mit „Naturals“ (CC-001) legt die Beatschmied Brigade Con Comfort ein solides Vinyl-Debüt auf den heimischen Plattenteller. Der Label-Sampler wurde mit einer Auflage von 500 Kopien veröffentlicht. Für das Mastering war Philanthrope zuständig. Das wunderschöne Cover wurde von Mimi Smalls gestaltet.
Smuv, Clap Cotton, Loop Schrauber, MF Eistee, Mt. Fujitive und Juan Rios … wer kennt sie nicht?! Es sind damit ausschließlich Produzenten am Start, die mit der eine oder anderen vorgestellten Platte im Vinyl-41-HQ vertreten sind. Schon allein das zeigt die vertretene Qualität an ;-) 19 Tracks hat das versammelte Beatsmith Collective für die Compilation „Naturals“ gebastelt. Die Beats zwischen Lo-Fi und Chillhop – gut gewürzt mit jazzigen Samples – wissen durchweg zu gefallen und lassen permanent den Kopfnicker raushängen. Anständiger Erstling für das in Nürnberg ansässige Label. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Clap Cotton – Ready To Roll“, „MF Eistee – Underwater Vision“ und „Mt. Fujitive – Cold Cosmos“.

Neues Label, neue Compilation, Instrumental-Herz, watt willste mehr?! Über den Frischling Block Opera (label, think tank, network and home for producers and beatmakers) ist am 05. Juli 2019 der Sampler „Cosmic Void“ erschienen. Das hochkarätig besetzte Line Up durfte ein Vinyl bespielen, von dem lediglich 500 Kopien gepresst wurden. Jede einzelne Platte wurde in ein handgefertigtes Cover aka DIY-Gatefold gelegt. Schon daran merkt man, wieviel Liebe in diesem Projekt steckt. Das satte Mastering stammt von der Hamburger Analog-Butze MeatTheBeat.
Mit Brenk Sinatra, Torky Tork, Cap Kendriks, Dexter, Twit One und einigen mehr hat quasi eine Beatschmied-Super-Group das Debüt von Block Opera mit Leben gefüllt. 16 instrumentale Tracks werfen das Label raketenmäßig in Nullkommanix auf die DACH-Hip-Hop-Karte. Die Compilation klingt dabei auch noch total frisch und anders. Druckvolle Beats zwischen Entspannung und Melancholie, zwischen Boom Bap und Electro, zwischen Lo-Fi und Trip Hop … Großartige Mischung. Perfekter Einstand. Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „7apes – Floating City“, „Twit One – The Land of Nod“ (Hamma!), „Dienst&Schulter – Command X“ und „Smoke Trees – W-58025“.

The sample-heavy album scores with gritty drums, a handful of vocal flips and a mellow vibe reminiscent of the ’90s. The first track „Ni Ad Bulc“ comes with a classic Boombap sound, which on the following tracks has to give way to a mixture of dirty lofi elements and dirty pumping drums. Tracks like „Sippin“ or „Plants“ drive this with their double-time character to the extreme.«

Mit „Radio Juicy presents: Fear And Loathing In Beats“ (RJ082) hat es unser Jubilar Radio Juicy mal wieder so richtig krachen lassen. Veröffentlicht, hergestellt und vertrieben wird das auf 400 Kopien limitierte Doppel-Vinyl von Urban Waves Records. Das Mastering stammt aus der Analogschmiede von Staub audio engineering / Sterilone. Für Artwork und Layout von Gatefoldcover und Vinyl-Label ist James Neilson verantwortlich.
Seit 2012 ist Radio Juicy im Namen des (Instrumental) Hip Hop unterwegs. Zur Feier des Tages hat das Label viele wegkreuzende Produzenten gewinnen können, die den Jubiläums-Sampler „Fear And Loathing In Beats“ – wie schon damals™ beim Debüt RJ01 – prall gefüllt haben. 50 Beatschmiede. 32 Tracks mit fetten Beats zwischen Lo-Fi und Jazzhop.
