JESVS LO5T – THE GAMBLE EP (IZWID / HHV Records)

Nach KUTMAH presents: Sketchbook ist mit „JESVS LO5T – THE GAMBLE“ die zweite Platte vom Label Duo IZWID / HHV Records (IZWID007 / HHV816) im Vinyl-41-HQ gelandet. 300 Kopien wurden in schwarzes Polyvinylchlorid gepresst und in ein von Brandy Flower und Kutmah gestaltetes Cover gesteckt. Das Mastering stammt von Sven Friederichs.

Der griechische Beatschmied JESVS LO5T hat für seinen vinylen Erstling 22 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks produziert. Die Beats sind – wie schon bei Kutmahs Sketchbook – liebevoll kurious und passen damit perfekt zum Label IZWID. Soulig knisternde Samples treffen auf scheinbar chaotische Basslinien. Die Platte klingt wie ein Beattape auf knittrigem Magnetband. Wunderbar verrücktes Album, dass ich schon bei der ersten Rotation in mein kleines Instrumental-Herz geschlossen habe.

Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „i’d like to tell you ooh“, „dowatuwon“, „rhhlooj“ und „otha fish“. Erhältlich ist das Kleinod der hiphopschen Unterhaltungskunst in den Online-Shops von HHV Records und Fatbeats.

B Dom – Good Time (Excursions Records / Vinyl Digital)

Das Vinyl „B Dom – Good Time“ ist über das Label Duo Excursions Records / Vinyl Digital (VinDig353) erschienen. Die Mörschbacher Plattenbutze hat 300 Kopien in schwarzes Polyvinylchlorid pressen lassen. Das Cover Artwork stammt von Veronika Wünsch. Für das Design ist Ropa Sucia verantwortlich. Abgemixt wurde das Album von Brous One. Das Mastering hat DJ Pérez übernommen.

Für „Good Time“ hat B Dom, eine Hälfte der Fallen Roses, 12 Tunes produziert. Der chilenische Multi Instrumentalist hat es für die Beats sehr jazzig angehen lassen. Blechbläser, Gitarren und Drums verstärken diesen Eindruck. Auch die lateinamerikanische Herkunft des Künstlers kann nicht verleugnet werden. Und das ist gut so. Mag ich wohl. Schönes Album, dass nicht so ganz ins Genre Hip Hop Instrumentals passt und trotzdem gefällt.

Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „On The Way“, „Indiferente“ und „Danger“. Die Platte ist auf der Bandcamp-Seite von Excursions Records und im Online-Shop VinDig zum Erwerb verfügbar.

Harleighblu x Bluestaeb – She (HHV Records)

Der doppelte Long Player „Harleighblu x Bluestaeb – She“ ist Anfang November 2019 im Vinyl-41-HQ gelandet. Das Album (+ Instrumentals) ist über HHV Records (HHV818) in zwei Deluxe Editions erschienen: „grey colored vinyl“ (300 Kopien) und schwarzes Polyvinylchlorid. Für das Artwork sind Leon Giseke und Tim Wetter verantwortlich. Die Coverfotos hat Svenja Trierscheid beigesteuert. Das Mastering stammt aus der Analogschmiede zinomikorey.com.

Wieder mal ein Album, bei dem (für mich) alles passt. Die soulige Stimme von Harleighblu aus Nottingham, England ist wie das fehlende Puzzleteil zu den Produktionen von Bluestaeb. Der europäische Beatschmied hat für „She“ insgesamt 13 Tunes gebastelt, die auf den Seiten C und D auch in reinster Form als Instrumentals zu geniessen sind. Die basslastigen Hip Hop Beats zwischen (Neo-)Soul und R’n’B haben schon allein die Höchstwertung verdient. Aber auch die Seiten A und B, die mit dem spektakulären Gesang von Harleighblu exzellent gefüllt sind, konnten den Maximalwert auf keinsten runterdrücken. Großartiges Album, dass meine fast fertige Jahreswertung für 2019 nochmal ordentlich umkrempelt.

Meine Wertung: 10/10. Favoriten: „Queeen Dem“, „Call“, „Cake“ und „Too Young“. Erhältlich ist das Prachtstück in den Online-Stores von HHV und Fatbeats.

Herring Franky – Blue Jives (Blunt Shelter Records)

Das Album „Herring Franky – Blue Jives“ ist über das Label Blunt Shelter Records (BLNT-014) erschienen. (Vor)Finaziert, hergestellt und vertrieben wurde das Vinyl über den japanischen Crowdfunding Speizialisten QRATES. Das Ziel der Geldbeschaffungskampagne waren 200 Exemplare. Im Endeffekt wurden 203 Kopien in schwarzes Polyvinylchlorid gepresst. Obacht: die Platte klingt mit 45RPM am besten.

Nach The Flip & Dip Sessions (Missing Children Records / MCR003) und Dippin in the Lab (BLNT-002) steht mit „Blue Jives“ das dritte Album des ungarischen Beatschmieds im heimischen Plattenregal. Für sein aktuelles Vinyl hat Herring Franky 16 Instrumentals produziert. Wie man schon am Cover-Design im Stil von Francis Wolff (Blue Note Records) erkennen kann, sind die entstandenen Hip Hop Beats voll dem Thema Jazz gewidmet. Eine Platte grandios entspannter Kopfnicker.

Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Land of Vibes“, „Give Her a Title“ und „Ya Need That Extra Push“. Erhältlich ist das Vinyl in den bekannten Online-Shops von HHV Records und VinDig.

Phlocalyst – Entity (S!X – Music)

Mit „Phlocalyst – Entity“ steht das fünfte Album und gleichzeitig das erste Vinyl des Belgiers bereit. Die Platte ist über das Label S!X – Music (S1XM063DV) erschienen und wurde über den Crowdfunding Spezialisten QRATES erfolgreich vorfinanziert. Das Ziel der Kampagne waren 100 Exemplare. 117 Kopien haben es dann final in die Presse geschafft.

Der flämische Beatschmied und Orchester Musiker Phlocalyst hat für seinen vinylen Erstling 12 instrumentale Tracks produziert. Unter freundlicher Mithilfe von Remulak, Flynn, Wilczynski und einigen mehr ist dabei eine total entspannte Platte entstanden. Die chilligen Beats, jazzigen Samples und der sanfte Einsatz von Blechbläsern spielen perfekt zusammen. Schönes Album, dass grandios zur dunklen Jahreszeit passt.

Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Parapluie (feat. m e a d o w)“, „Conscience (feat. Santport)“ und „Amber Skies (feat. Wilczynski)“. Ein paar Exemplare stehen noch in den Online-Shops von HHV Records und VinDig zur käuflichen Abholung bereit.
