Der Flensburger Beatschmied und Vinyl 41 Stammgast snaer. hat mal endlich wieder über das Kieler Label Tapeinvader ein Tape herausgebracht. Das gute Lo-Fi Stück hört auf den Namen snaer – doze und ist mit TAPEINV020 katalogisiert. Aber das nur der Form halber. Die 20 Tracks starke und überaus chillige Instrumental Hip Hop Kassette aus dem hohen Norden fühlt sich gleich richtig wohl im Friedenauer Tape Deck und trägt zur allgemeinen Entspannung aller Anwesenden bei. So muss das.

heisst das neueste Solo-Werk des Stuttgarter Beatschmieds, der hier bei Vinyl 41 kein unbekannter ist. Das Album wurde, wie auch schon sein Debüt Into The Deep, über das Label-Trio Urban Waves / Radio Juicy / HHV veröffentlicht. Von Steamer (HHV695) wurden 300 Kopien in schwarzes Vinyl gepresst. Bei hhv.de kann man die limitierte Platte käuflich erwerben.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Smoke Trees – Steamer. Der Stuttgarter Beat Smith entwickelt sich immer mehr zum Großmeister des Chill Hop. Ein smoothes Album nach dem anderem verlässt die ESTUGARDA-Produktionshalle. Für Steamer hat er 19 jazzige Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks gebastelt, die wieder mal so richtig nonchalant daherkommen. Entspannung pur!
Wie hier schon mal leicht angekündigt liegt Hip Dozer Compilation vol.2 jetzt endlich auf meinem Plattenteller. Hat die Hip Dozer Compilation 001 noch auf eine Platte gepasst, war für den 2 Teil schon ein Doppel-Vinyl von Nöten. Für die Pressung wurde dieses mal eine Crowdfunding Kampagne über die Diggers Factory gestartet und erfolgreich durchgezogen. Final wurden 200 Kopien hergestellt.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Hip Dozer Compilation vol.2. Masse statt Klasse? Nein! Masse und durchaus auch Klasse. 24 mir bekannte und unbekannte Beatschmiede durften 24 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks produzieren. Das ganze Album ist wieder sehr chillig geworden und steht seinem Vorgänger in nichts nach. Beats von Funky bis jazzy und ein bisschen groovy… ein Sampler, den man sich mit ruhigem Gewissen gönnen kann.
Favoriten: deeB – The Brooklyn Tango, Bonus Points – After Hours und B-Side – Sunshine
Das Album Kyo Itachi – Zatoichi ist nach Hip Dozer Compilation vol.2 das zweite Vinyl, dass ich über den QRATES Konkurrenten Diggers Factory vorfinanziert habe. Hat gut funktioniert. Für das Label Konglomerat, bestehend aus Kamehameha House, Beat Zem All und Shinigamie Records wurden lediglich 150 Kopien (BZALP01) in rotes Vinyl gepresst. Die Blood Katana Edition wurde, wie auch bei QRATES üblich, über junorecords ausgeliefert.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Kyo Itachi – Zatoichi. Der französische Beatschmied erzählt mit seiner Platte die Geschichte des blinden Samurai Zatoichi. Es ist kein reines Instrumental Hip Hop Album geworden. Die eine Hälfte der 20 Tracks sind gerappte Ninja & Samurai Verse und die andere Hälfte sind (leider viel zu kurze) reine Kyo Beats. Ein bisschen Wu Tang, angereichert mit etwas El Michels Affair und vermischt mit asiatischen Samples, mal was anderes. Prädikat: Interessant ;-)

Schweizer Beatschmied, griechisches Label, deutscher Endverbraucher, EU at its best. Mit gated – The Outsider (NEK057) ist ein richtig kleines Schmuckstück in meiner Tapesammlung gelandet. Farbiges in 3D gedrucktes Kassettengehäuse und hübsch designte Schutzhülle aus brauner Pappe, mal ganz was anderes. Auch klanglich weiss die Kassette voll zu überzeugen. Da haben Gated und Nekubi wirklich ganze Arbeit geleistet. Bei Bandcamp scheint es noch ein paar Tapes zu geben … Sold Out!
