Das Debüt-Album „ewon12bit – one time for your mind“ vom finnischen Beatschmied ist im Februar 2019 über das Label Phatventures (PHATVENTURESLP03) erschienen. Gleichzeitig wurde über Diggers Factory eine Crowdfunding-Kapagne angestossen, die 300 Kopien in schwarzem Polyvinylchlorid finanzieren sollte. Das hat dann zum Glück auch wie geplant funktioniert. Die Platte wurde gepresst und vor kurzem ausgeliefert. Im Vinyl-41-HQ rotiert Nr. 154/300.
ewon12bit hat für seinen Instrumental Hip Hop Erstling 14 Kracher Tracks produziert. Oldschoolige Beats treffen auf Golden Era Vinyl-Samples, die ganz traditionell auf Magnetband recorded wurden. Das klingt nach Hip Hop von der Stange, was aber auf keinsten zutrifft. Dem Beat Smith aus Helsinki und seiner großartigen Musik merkt man an, das sie sich komplett dem Boom Bap verschrieben haben. Einstand nach Maß!
Meine Wertung 9/10. Favoriten: „skyline rising“, „rabbit hole“ und „elevation“. HHV Records, VinDig und decks.de haben noch ein paar Platten gelistet. Wie gesagt, noch … Viel Spass beim reinhören!

Nach diversen Veröffentlichungen auf Tape und USB-Stick ist mit „Smeyeul – Always Temporary“ das Vinyl-Debüt des Beatschmieds aus Louisville, Kentucky im Vinyl-41-HQ gelandet. Das 12” Clear yellow color vinyl wurde über QRATES (vor)finanziert, hergestellt und ausgeliefert. 100 Kopien haben es auf die Plattenteller der Welt geschafft. Das Mastering wurde im Hause Inner Ocean Records durchgezogen. Für das Artwork ist Electromilk verantwortlich.
Der Schlafzimmer-Produzent hat für „Always Temporary“ 14 Instrumental Tracks gebastelt. Die jazzigen Lo-Fi Beats sind voller halliger Klänge eines Rhodes-Klaviers und einfacher Melodien. Die Platte ist ganz okayisch, aber für mich eine Nummer zu Lo-Fi bzw. etwas zu behäbig. Ich dachte schon, dass ich den 45-RPM-Hinweis irgendwo überlesen hätte … Meine Wertung: 7/10. Favoriten: „short films“ und „memories ft. chief.“.

Dieses mal zeigt sich Jakarta Records (Berlin / Köln) als Label verantwortlich. Das Artwork (inkl. Fotografie) stammt von Dylan Moore. Hergestellt und vertrieben wird die Platte über Groove Attack.
Mit „A Journey to You“ geht Melodiesinfonie aka Kevin Wettstein scheinbar neue Wege. Der Schweizer Beatsmith und Musiker hat für sein aktuelles Album ein wenig die Hip-Hop-Pfade verlassen. Für die 12 Tracks wurde die Melodien grösstenteils mit echten Instrumenten und Backing Vocals eingespielt. Statt gesampelter Beats gehen die Instrumentals jetzt eher Richtung Jazz und Soul. Grossartiges Vinyl! Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Keep on Searching“, „Feel Me“ und „Tropicololo“

Es ist mal wieder ein Vinyl-Debüt zu verkünden. Über den Berliner Underground-Plattenschnitzer Dezi-Belle ist die Platte „Odeeno – Paintsens“ erschienen. Lediglich 100 Kopien wurden angefertigt. Für das überaus ansprechende Design ist Omar „Emshi“ Nasser verantwortlich.
Der aus Napoli stammende Beatschmied Odeeno hat für seinen vinylen Erstling „Paintsens“ 15 Tracks produziert. Unterstützt wurde er von seinen Kollegen Fatb, Žiga Murko, Emshi und Drwn. Enstanden ist dabei ein „farbenfrohes“ Lo-Fi-Potpourri mit chilligen Beats zwischen Melancholie und Glückseligkeit. Perfekt für das Träumerchen zwischendurch. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Positivemud“, „Love in D“ und „Smooth Brushes (feat. Drwn)“.
