Meine Wertung: 8/10 für MF Eistee x Loop Schrauber – Houseboat. MF Eistee ist ja hier im Blog kein Unbekannter mehr. Den Loop Schrauber, der in Regensburg beheimatet ist, hatte ich bisher noch nicht auf meinem Platten-Radar. Wird also höchste Zeit. Die beiden Beatschmiede haben für das mittlere Vinyl-Format 10 – leider etwas kurze – Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks mit total entschleunigten und frischen Beats produziert, die perfekt zur vorsommerlichen Jahreszeit passen. Jetzt muss ich mir aber ganz schnell einen mobilen Plattenspieler zulegen und ein Hausboot mieten … #todo … bis neulich dann.
ist das neueste Album aus dem Hause Beat Art Department. Der Nachfolger vom Album Farska, dass ich immer noch total abjubiliere, feiert just an diesem Freitag (11.05.2018) seinen Release-Day. Ich durfte bzw. darf das Vinyl um einiges vor dem Erscheinungstermin geniessen und kann deshalb schon mal ein erstes Fazit ziehen: Legt euch das Ding zu! Bei Bandcamp, HHV oder VinDig habt ihr die Möglichkeit dazu.

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für L-One – Medusa. Was soll ich gross drumherum schreiben, grossartiges Vinyl. Medusa konnte IMHO den schon genialen Vorgänger Farska nochmals toppen. Das wiederum 15 Tracks starke Instrumental Hip Hop Album glänzt durch seinen Facettenreichtum. Die chilligen Beats und gut gewählten Samples wandeln zwischen Soul, Trip Hop, Boom Bap, Jazz und G-Funk hin und her. Sogar der namensgebende Track Medusa weiss, trotz oder gerade wegen der eindrucksvollen vokalen Unterstützung von Akere, total zu überzeugen. Prädikat: Die Platte sollte in keiner Sammlung fehlen!
Über die Golden Ticket Tapes wollte ich schon lange mal ein paar Wörter verlieren. Warum also nicht jetzt? »Platform and magazine for lovers of finest instrumental hiphop, inspiring soundtracks, urban culture and laidback days.« So beschreibt man sich selbst. Zudem haben der oder die Macher noch eine andere Passion und die heisst Beat Tapes. Die Golden Ticket Tapes 001 – 003 sind bisher erschienen. Produziert wurden die ersten drei digitalen Alben von jeweils einem Beatschmied. IAMPAUL, Alfred Quest und Tilmann Jarmer heissen die Protagonisten, die richtig guten und chilligen Instrumental Hip Hop abgeliefert haben. Alle drei Teile stehen bei Bandcamp für jeweils 5 Euronen zum Download / Stream bereit. Ich bin schon voll gespannt, wann und mit wem Nr. 004 erscheinen wird.

Das ist mir schon ein wenig unangenehm. Soulmade – Kvintesenco (DC032) lag seit ein oder zwei Monaten unbeachtet auf meinem #todo-Stapel. Das hat die Platte aber echt nicht verdient. Nun aber schnell … Das Vinyl ist im Februar 2018 über das Label dailyconcept als Limited Edition mit 500 Kopien erschienen. Meine Wertung: 8/10Soulmade – Kvintesenco. Der Beatschmied aus Reutlingen hat für das Album 14 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks produziert, die wieder ordentlich Bass an Bord haben. Der auch als Rapper Damian von Chezz&DAM aktive Produzent, hat für den Nachfolger von One For: erneut ordentlich an seiner Hardware gedreht. Smoothe Boom Bap Beats treffen auf jazzige Samples, herrliche Mischung.
Don Philippe – Hour of Shadow (Dezi-Belle Records)
Mit dem Vinyl Don Philippe – Hour of Shadow (DB043) kam es zur 2. Zusammenarbeit von Philippe A. Kayser und dem Berliner Underground Hip-Hop Label Dezi-Belle. Das Album wurde in klassisches schwarzes Kunststoff gepresst. Zusätzlich hat man ein clear/black marbled Design auserkoren und ebenfalls pressen lassen. Beide Versionen sind bei Bandcamp, HHV oder VinDig käuflich zu erwerben. Ich habe mich für das gemarbelte Schmuckstück entschieden.

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für Don Philippe – Hour of Shadow. Nach Red Flower, dem IMHO chilligsten Album 2017, hat der Wahl-Berliner erneut zugeschlagen. Das 4. Soloalbum des Kolchose-Beatbastlers beinhaltet 15 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks, die wieder total entspannt aus den Lautsprechern tönen. Ein weiteres mal hat mich Don Philippe mit seinen Lo-Fi Beats sowie den jazzigen saiten- und tastengepowerten Samples überzeugt. Without a shadow of a doubt. Berlin scheint ihm gut zu tun.
