The Drumlord – Sons of the City (Blunt Shelter Records)

Darf ich vorstellen? Das dritte Vinyl vom ungarischen Label Blunt Shelter Records: The Drumlord – Sons of the City. Erneut hat man QRATES mit dem Crowdfunding und der anschliessenden Produktion beauftragt. 200 Kopien wurden innerhalb von drei Monaten vorfinanziert, gepresst und unter die Viynlliebhaber gebracht. HHV und Vinyl Digital haben auch eingekauft. Ein paar Exemplare von der limited Edition sind noch gelistet. Zuschlagen. Bei Discogs wird es teuerer ;-)

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für The Drumlord – Sons of the City. Der Beatschmied aus Budapest hat 16 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks auf die Nadeln der Welt losgelassen. Als Genre wurde vom Label „electrosynthlofijazzboombap“ definiert. Passt ganz gut. Das auf StackOne – Parallax und Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab folgende Album kommt sehr entspannt rüber und verkürzt die Wartezeit auf den ersten Label-Sampler. BTW: Bombed in the Blunt Shelter könnte noch etwas Unterstützung gebrauchen. Haut rein!

Bluntone – Tales of 16 Pads

Nach den Alben StackOne – Parallax (BLNT-001) und Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab (BLNT-002) kommt hier quasi die Nullnummer vom ungarischen Label Blunt Shelter Records. Das Instrumental Hip Hop Vinyl Bluntone – Tales of 16 Pads (BLNT-000) wurde vom Label Boss himself produziert und über QRATES vorfinanziert. Insgesamt wurden dann 312 Kopien gepresst. Bei HHV und Vinyl Digital könnt Ihr Euch eine Platte zulegen.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Bluntone – Tales of 16 Pads. Die Platte bietet labeltypisch, vom ersten bis zum letzten der 16 Tracks, chilligen Instrumental Hip Hop. Der ungarische Beatschmied hat für das Vinyl total entspannte Beats gebastelt, die durch jazzige und knisternde Samples perfekt unterstützt werden. Idealer Soundtrack für die abendliche Durchatmung auf der heimischen Kautsch.

Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab (Blunt Shelter Records)

Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab ist nach The Flip & Dip Sessions schon das zweite Vinyl vom ungarischen Beatschmied, dass hier bei Vinyl 41 im Umlauf ist. Gleichzeitig ist es auch die zweite Platte von Blunt Shelter Records (BLNT-002). Das Label werde ich mal im Auge behalten. Dippin in the Lab wurde wieder über QRATES vorfinanziert. Lediglich 100 Kopien wurden gepresst. Bei HHV und Vinyl Digital sind noch ein paar Exemplare am Lager.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab. Auch das zweite Vinyl des ungarischen Produzenten macht richtig Spass. Aber erst nachdem man herausgefunden hat, dass die Platte mit 45 rpm läuft. Vorher klang das Vinyl überhaupt nicht gut. Ein kleiner Hinweis auf dem Cover wäre schon schön gewesen. Die 20 – teilweise sehr kurzen – Tracks bieten chilligen Instrumental Hip Hop, der durch analoge Samples aus den 90er Jahren sehr gut in Szene gesetzt wird. Perfekter Soundtrack für die nachmittägliche Relaxung auf der heimischen Kautsch.
