Figùra – Place to Be (InchPerSecond Records)

Das Album „Figùra – Place to Be“ ist im Juni 2018 digital und als Kassette erschienen. Im darauffolgenden Juli hat das Label InchPerSecond Records (Tel Aviv Yafo, Israel) eine Crowdfunding-Kampagne bei QRATES angestossen. 200 Kopien wurden bis September 2018 finanziert, in transparentes Polyvinylchlorid gepresst und auf die Plattenteller der Welt verteilt.

Die italienische Beat-Combo hat für „Place to Be“ 11 Tracks produziert. Sie wurden dabei freundlich von Melodiesinfonie, Concerto, DJ Daf.Tee und einigen mehr unterstützt. Die sehr chilligen Beats wechseln, je nach Gastauftritt, zwischen Jazz, Hip-Hop und Nu-Soul hin und her. Obendrauf gibt es noch ein bisschen was mit Stimme aus Soul und Rap. Sehr abwechslungsreiches Album, bei dem mir persönlich ein wenig der berühmte rote Faden fehlt. Meine Wertung: 7/10. Favoriten: „Brainstorm feat. Melodiesinfonie“ und „So Excited“.

Erhältlich ist das Schmuckstück in Clear Vinyl direkt auf der Bandcamp-Seite des Labels. In den Online-Shops von HHV und VinDig findet ihr die Platte auch, sogar etwas preiswerter. Viel Spass beim reinhören!

MiLch – Soul-Fi (OBC / HHV)

MiLch – Soul-Fi (Ost Block Cobras / HHV Records)

Nach der SHWIFTEY 50/50 LP liegt mit „MiLch – Soul-Fi“ das zweite Vinyl von den Ost Block Cobras auf meinem Plattenteller. Die Platte ist über das Duo OBC / HHV Records (HHV786) erschienen. Lediglich 300 Kopien wurden gepresst und in ein blindmachendes Cover gesteckt.

Auch wieder so ein Album, dass ich trotz mehrmaliger Rotation nur schwer beschreiben kann. Der Leipziger Beatschmied MiLch (Lazy Kalle) hat für die beattapeartige Platte seinem SP-404-Gerät insgesamt 33 schräge Tracks entlockt. Ein bunter Mix aus Soul, Disco und Funk ist dabei entstanden. Ich fühl(t)e mich sofort in die guten alten Siebziger zurückkatapultiert. „Soul-Fi“ ist eine instrumentale Zeitreise zurück in die Era, in der nicht nur die Kopfnicker unterwegs waren. Also Platte auflegen, Hüfte kreisen lassen und in diesem damals™ (war nicht alles schlecht) schwelgen. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „King Is Dead, Long Live the King“, „One Night Stand“ und „Heavy Petting“

Jinsang – In Flight (Vinyl Digital)

Nach „Life“ und „Solitude“ steht mit „Jinsang – In Flight“ mittlerweile das dritte Vinyl des kalifornischen Beatschmieds in meinem Plattenregal. Das Album ist erneut über das Label Vinyl Digital (VINDIG378) erschienen. Es wurden zwei Varianten veröffentlicht: Black and White Vinyl. Die weiße Version war auf 300 Kopien limitiert und ist mittlerweile „Sold Out“. Im Vinyl-41-HQ rotiert die schwarze Variante.

Satte 21 Instrumental Tracks hat Jinsang für „In Flight“ produziert. Das Album überzeugt mit seinen melodiösen Lo-Fi Beats, jazzigen Samples und den einzigartigen passenden Drum-Loops. Sehr chillig das ganze. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Leaving“, „Haven“ und „comfort zone“. Erhältlich ist die Platte im Online-Shop von VinDig, aber leider nur noch in der schwarzen Ausführung. Die klingt aber auch gut …

Loop.Holes – Back In Bap (MJM)

Loop.Holes – Back In Bap (Millennium Jazz Music)

Mit „Loop.Holes – Back In Bap“ hat die norwegische Hip Hop Kapelle im Jahr 2018 ihr vinyles Debüt hingelegt. Das Doppelalbum ist über das Londoner Label Millennium Jazz Music (MJM136) erschienen. Die Finanzierung und Herstellung der 2LP wurde über eine Crowdfunding Kampagne bei QRATES realisiert. Das geplante Ziel von 100 Kopien wurde mit insgesamt 347 angefertigten Exemplaren quasi pulverisiert.

Damals™ in 2013 haben die Beatschmiede Type.Raw, Filliboomboombap, Lootfattig, Marshtini, Henc-Beats und Vizcatiabeats das Projekt Loop.holes gegründet. Nach einigen „Fremdproduktionen“ hat es geschlagene fünf Jahre später endlich zu einer eigenen Veröffentlichung „gereicht“. Was alle sechs Norweger vereint ist die Liebe zu oldschooligem 90er Jahre Hip Hop. Das merkt man den 18 Tracks vom Best-Of-der letzten-fünf-Jahre-Album „Back in Bap“ auch voll an. Auf allen vier Seiten sind klassische Boom Bap Beats mit Samples aus Soul und Jazz zu finden bzw. zu hören. Solides Debüt von der norwegischen Beat Smith Supergroup. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Smooth One“, „Sunny Jazz“ und „Multiple Layers“

Auf der Bandcamp-Seite des Labels ist das Doppel-Vinyl leider komplett „Sold Out“. Aber in den Online-Shops von HHV Records und VinDig werdet ihr noch fündig.

The Jazz Jousters – Operation Six (Millennium Jazz Music)

Zum sechsjährigen Bestehen der Jazz Jousters ist im Dezember 2018 die Compilation „The Jazz Jousters – Operation Six“ über das englische Label Millennium Jazz Music (MJM138) erschienen. Die Vorfinanzierung (aka Crowdfunding) und Herstellung wurden erneut über den japanischen Vinyl-Dienstleiter QRATES abgewickelt. Das avisierte Ziel waren knappe 100 Kopien. Genau 252 Exemplare wurden dann auf der Zielgeraden unter die Leute gebracht.

Für die aktuelle 2LP hat das Jousters-Kollektiv 18 süperbe Instrumental Tracks produziert. Auch zum 6. Geburtstag überzeugt die Jazz Combo um Pawcut, Gadget, SmokedBeat, Slone und Co. wieder mit jazzigen Hip Hop Beats inkl. swingender Samples. Abermals ein großartiges Doppel-Album aus dem Hause MJM. Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Soupbox – Days“, „Says Who? – Dusk ft. Vicky Flint“, „SmokedBeat – This Is Love“, „B3NBi – React Accordingly“ und „Type.Raw (Loop.Holes) – Away“.

Auf der Bandcamp-Seite von MJM sind momentan noch 25 Exemplare verfügbar. In den Online-Shops von HHV Records, VinDig und junorecords ist die 2LP auch noch gelistet.
