Mit „Pinball Exit“ hat Fubu im Juni 2021 den Nachfolger von Polaris rausgehauen. Für die Beats war dieses mal der gute Spaze Windu – der im Vinyl-41-HQ u.a. mit Opaque für Furore gesorgt hat – verantwortlich. Die Platte ist über das Label-Trio Nyati / Am Apparat / HHV Records erschienen. Qualitäts-Troika! Der (teilweise) entspannte und gut zu verstehende Rapstil sowie die intelligenten Texte von Fubu passen perfekt zu den relaxten Klängen, die Spaze Windu produziert hat.
Meine Wertung
Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Portfolio“ und „Weit Weg (feat. Yustus Malick & Jiyan)“. Die Platte ist für meinen Geschmack etwas schwächer als der Vorgänger, aber trotzdem eine dicke Empfehlung des Hauses! Das Vinyl „Pinball Exit“ könnt ihr im Shop von HHV käuflich erwerben.

In der Lockdown Edition Nr. 12 habe ich das Instrumental Album „Djidl – Babygroove“ (Nyati / HHV Records) schon mal kurz vorgestellt. Das Vinyl liegt seit dem sehr oft auf dem heimischen Plattenteller und hat sich damit noch mal eine Extra-Erwähnung verdient. Das Produzenten-Debüt von Lord Folter überzeugt nicht nur durch das voll schnafte Design, bei dem das Purple Vinyl natürlich sofort ins Auge springt. Auch die 10 Beats zwischen düsterem Ambient und relaxtem Boom Bap haben mich komplett überzeugt und total begeistert. „Babygroove“ ist bis jetzt für mich das Album des Jahres 2021 …

Meine Wertung: 10/10. Favoriten: „Irreplacable“, „Cherrola“ und „Unbreakable“. Das purple colored Vinyl wurde 300 mal gepresst und kann direkt bei HHV geshoppt werden.

Kurz nach dem Eintreffen der EP „Née Pauline & Ol‘ Burger Beats – I Am Leaving“ im Vinyl-41-HQ und erster Rotation auf dem heimischen Plattendreher habe ich mich gleich mal unserer heutigen Protagonistin mit bestem Notenglisch offenbart:
»I’ll be honest … I ordered the record because of your brother’s instrumentals. Because I’m a big fan of his beats. But your voice really knocks me away …«
Viel mehr Worte braucht man eigentlich über das Schmuckstück aus koloriertem Polyvinylchlorid – das über HHV Records (HHV878) erschienen ist – auch nicht verlieren. Die exzellenten und entschleunigten Beats von Ol‘ Burger Beats und die großartige Stimme seiner Schwester Née Pauline passen perfekt zusammen. »It’s a family affair!«

Awon & Phoniks – Nothing Less (Don’t Sleep Records)
Das Album „Awon & Phoniks – Nothing Less“ ist für mich – nach den Instrumentalscheiben Time Goes By und Down To Earth – die dritte Vinyl-Begegnung mit dem Label Don’t Sleep Records. Was soll ich sagen schreiben? Auch die vollgerappte Platte gefällt mir total gut. Und das liegt nicht nur am Tri-Colored Vinyl-Design. Natürlich würde ich mir wünschen, dass die jazzigen Hip Hop Beats von Phoniks noch eine Extra-Pressung abfassen würden. Aber ich kann auch mit den entspannten Lines von Awon und Gästen gut leben. Großartige Platte!

The first vinyl that I first put down money on has to be Jigmastas. I am a DJ Spinna fan and when I saw the record, I had to have it. Truly Legendary!
Das erste Vinyl, für das ich Geld bezahlt habe, war Jigmastas. Ich bin ein Fan von DJ Spinna und als ich die Platte sah, musste ich sie einfach haben. Einfach legendär!

Welche Musik-Genres hörst Du am liebsten?
I love Hip-Hop hands down, but funk always played a big role as well as Electronic Bounce. I love some deep house every now and then and Lounge definitely for a brew or two.
Ich liebe Hip-Hop über alles, aber Funk hat immer eine große Rolle gespielt, ebenso wie Electronic Bounce. Ich liebe ab und zu etwas Deep House und Lounge zu diggen, auf jeden Fall passend für ein oder zwei Bier.
Welche vergriffenen Vinyls sollten nachgepresst werden?
Marcel Dialo, don’t know what happened to the artist, I loved his work. More Biz Markie work and would love to get some Fonkyson work.
Marcel Dialo, ich weiß aber einfach nicht, was aus dem Künstler geworden ist, ich hab seine Arbeit geliebt. Ganz klar Biz Markie sonst noch und ich würde gerne etwas von Fonkyson irgendwie rankommen.
