Ganz frisch aus Texas und ab damit ins heimische Tapedeck: GB Monroe – How Hi Are You. Nach den drei „7inch lathe cut picturedisc“ Sour Balls, Skrew Up Klick und Fogey ist jetzt die erste Kassette im Vinyl-41-HQ gelandet. „An ode to DIY cassette culture, these cassettes are each recorded in real time and on a very limited run.“ Nicht nur dieser Satz hat mich zum Erwerb des Tapes getrieben. Auch der Inhalt überzeugt durchaus. Beats und Samples zwischen chillig, oldschool und kurios tummeln sich auf den Seiten A und B. Überwältigt hat mich mal wieder die kreative Benennung der einzelnen Titel, die da Track 1, Track 2 oder Track23 heissen. Hamma! Das Beat Tape, dass ihr euch bei Bandcamp zulegen könnt, lohnt sich also nicht nur wegen des niedrigen Anschaffungswiederstandes von einem Dollar (+ ca. 5 Euro Versand). Schlagt zu. Es gibt nur 25 Stück.

Schöne Geschichte. Fulminantes Tape. Für Baronski und mich ist es nach dem Vinyl Ludum Laetitiae die zweite Begegnung. Wox hingegen liefert mit seinem Anteil am Gesamtwerk sein Vinyl-41-Debüt ab. Die beiden haben für Mind Your Head mal richtig einen rausgehauen. Satte Drums, Beats von Boom Bap bis synthielastigem Hip Hop, Samples aus Jazz, Funk und Soul, chillige bis düstere Stimmungen … wirklich grossartige Instrumentals, die trotz der hohen Anzahl an Tracks nie langweilig werden. Die Kassette könnt ihr euch bei Bandcamp, HHV oder Vinyl Digital zulegen. Es sind nur schmale 100 Kopien im Umlauf … wissta bescheid!

Auf Vol. 1 folgt Vol. 2. Schön, dass mit Drop Beats Not Bombs Vol. 2 diese Theorie wieder leibhaftig bestätigt wurde. Dem LabOhr ist erneut eine Compilation entsprungen, die in keiner Instrumental Sammlung fehlen sollte. Insgesamt haben es 28 Tracks von 26 Beatschmieden (wenn ich richtig gezählt habe!) auf die Kassette geschafft. Wieder geben sich mir unbekannte und bekannte Produzenten die Beat-Klinke in die Hand. Auch dieser Sampler ist wieder eine instrumentale Entdeckungsreise vom Allerfeinsten und macht schon jetzt voll Bock auf Vol. 3. „German Based Online-Shop And Independent Record Label Founded In 2018“. Das hört sich doch gut an. Und da kommt auch schon das erste Release ums Eck. For Your Listening Pleasure Vol​. 1 nennt sich das erste Tape von Listening Pleasure Records aus Saarlouis. Die Compilation ist prall gefüllt mit feinstem Instrumental Hip Hop von Beatschmieden wie Ak420, Flughand, Wilczynski, Mf Eistee, Funkonami, IAMPAUL und vielen Szenegrössen mehr. „60 Minutes Of Finest Boombap And Lo-Fi Beats.“ Hamma! Das nennt man wohl Einstand nach Maß. Lediglich 150 handnummerierte Kassetten wurden angefertigt. Bestellbar ist das gute Stück auf der Bandcamp-Seite des Labels. Der Anschaffungswiderstand von 11 Euro (zzgl. Versand) ist gut angelegtes Geld. Gönnt Euch das Ding. Absolute Empfehlung aus dem Vinyl-41-HQ!
