Plata o Plomo! Na dann lieber Leben. Und mit der neuesten Veröffentlichung vom Berliner Label Dezi-Belle RecordsFunky Notes & Tom Doolie – Narcotraficantes funktioniert dieses leben auch richtig gut. Die siebenzöllige EP, die niedertourig mit 33 rpm läuft, wurde lediglich 100 mal in schwarzes Kunststoff kopiert und ist bei Bandcamp zum Preis von 9,95 Euro (zzgl. Versand) erhältlich. Noch.

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für Funky Notes & Tom Doolie – Narcotraficantes. Mit dem Titel haben sie mich sofort gewonnen. Narcos ist eine meiner Lieblingsserien und unterschwellig ist natürlich auch der Soundtrack hängegeblieben. Das bajuwarisch-eidgenössische Beatschmied-Joint-Venture hat eben Teile dieses kolumbianischen Soundtracks mit Voiceschnipseln und satten Hip Hop Beats zu einem kleinen musikalischen Kunstwerk vermischt. So ist das eben, wenn man sich mal kurz trifft und ein bisschen rumbastelt. ;-)
Die schon sehr sportliche Anzahl von 62 Beatschmieden und 62 Tracks von FUTURES Vol. 4 hat das Label Inner Ocean Records jetzt noch mal locker getoppt. Für FUTURES Vol. 5 hat das kanadische Label 73 Produzenten ins Rennen geschickt, die ebensoviele Tracks gebastelt haben. Hamma! Verteilt wurden die Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks auf zwei hübsche Kassetten, Red Crystal und Blue Crystal. Ich habe heute die Compilation 2,5 Stunden am Stück durchgehört und mich hat nichts gestört. Da hat der gute Mike mit seiner Auswahl ganze Arbeit geleistet. Ich bin schon gespannt, ob FUTURES Vol. 6 die 100er Marke knackt ;-)
Ach ja, kleiner negativer Punkt aka Schönheitsfehler: beide Kassetten sind mit „Tape No.1“ beklebt. Zum Glück ist aber beim Inhalt alles in Ordnung.

Aber für die VinDigSche Regalreihe hat er die heimatlichen Beatgefilde verlassen und das Album IAMPAUL – EXPEDITion Vol. 19: Nineteen (VinDig321) produziert. Wie man es schon von den anderen Platten der EXPEDITion Series gewöhnt ist, hat Vinyl Digital schmale 300 Kopien pressen lassen und über den eigenen Onlineshop zum Verkauf angeboten.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für IAMPAUL – EXPEDITion Vol. 19: Nineteen. Wenn man seine EP Daydream/Nightwalk (DC031) etwas genauer kennt, dann wird man überrascht sein. Denn für Vol. 19 der EXPEDITion Series arbeitet IAMPAUL eher mit jazzigen und teilweise klavierlastigen Samples sowie oldschooligen boogie down Beats, statt mit eigenen Instrumenten. Warum auch nicht, klingt doch super. Mit EXPEDITion Vol. 19: Nineteen hat er endgültig bewiesen, dass er nicht nur für andere Schmiede Beats basteln sollte, sondern auch eigene und fette Instrumental Hip Hop Alben produzieren kann.
Wie vor kurzem versprochen folgt jetzt Teil 2 der Trilogie: La Ciudad Cooperative – good kids ep. Die Beat-Kolchose aus Queens/New York hat hat für den zweiten Teil 17 Tracks produziert, die wieder als Soundtrack für einen billigen 70er-Jahre-Retro-B-Movie herhalten könnten. Mag ich sehr, beides. Erneut kann man sich das Instrumental Album bei Bandcamp als „name your price“ Stream und Download zulegen.
StackOne – Parallax (Blunt Shelter Records / BLNT-001)
Hier mal wieder eine vinyle Perle, für die ich viel Geduld aufbringen musste. Für das Instrumental Hip Hop Album StackOne – Parallax vom ungarischen Label Blunt Shelter Records (BLNT-001) musste erneut der kleine Umweg über die Crowdfunding Plattform QRATES gegangen werden. Ca. 3,5 Monate hat das ganze gedauert, bis die 100 Kopien ausgeliefert wurden. Aber es hat sich auch wieder mal gelohnt!

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für StackOne – Parallax. Der ungarische Beatschmied hat für das Debüt Vinyl des Labels Blunt Shelter Records 19 chillige Tracks produziert. Jazzige Samples und bewährte Boom Bap Beats, dass passt mal wieder perfekt. Ein solider Einstand auf schwarzem Kunststoff, für Produzent und Label. Ich bin schon auf BLNT-002 Herring Franky – dippin‘ in the lab gespannt. Die Platte ist nämlich auch gerade im Vinyl-41-HQ aufgeschlagen :-)
Favoriten: Pride Not Crime, I Fall In Love Too Easily und Silk Bird
