high john x plusma – High+ (Raw Suppliers)

Mit „high john x plusma – High+“ steht seit kurzem das erste Vinyl Release von den Raw Suppliers im heimischen Plattenregal. Die Herstellung der 10 Tracks starken Instrumental Hip Hop Platte wurde über den japanischen Vinyl-Dienstleister QRATES abgewickelt. 500 Kopien sind vom Label-Debüt gepresst worden. Erhältlich ist „High+“ bei Bandcamp und in den gängigen Online-Shops von HHV oder Vindig.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für „high john x plusma – High+“. Das High John x Plusmas Collabo Album hält genau das, was die Namen versprechen. Wabernde und tiefenentspannte Lo-Fi-Beats treffen auf jazzige und sehr melodiöse Samples. Aber bitte die Geschwindigkeit des Plattendrehers auf 45 RPM einstellen, ansonsten wird es eine Nummer zu relaxt. Prädikat: Solider Debütantenball für das Label Raw Suppliers.

Der Underground MC Blame One und der Beat Smith Veks haben sich zusammengetan und gemeinsam das Album „Blame One – The 34th Scroll“ produziert. Erschienen ist das Album über das Label Duo Missing Children Records / HHV Records (HHV787) als 2LP mit allen Instrumentals. 300 Kopien wurden gepresst. Wertung

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für „Blame One – The 34th Scroll“. Veks hat für das Album acht solide Hip Hop Beats mit knisternden Jazz-Samples gebastelt, auf die Blame One und seine Kollegen Blu, One.Be.Lo, Flashius und erneut Veks ihre Lines gerappt haben. Das Album kommt leider ohne grosse Highlights daher und plätschert mit dem relativ monotonen Rapstil des MC etwas zu sehr vor sich hin. Prädikat: klassisches Hip Hop Album ohne Klassiker.

Favoriten: Frequency (Instrumental) und Twelve And Fourteen (Instrumental)

Sieben Jahre nach den Geldfundphantasyen sind Lazy Jones und Twin One immer noch relativ pleite. Genau diesem Zustand widmen sich die beiden Beatschmiede auf ihrem zweiten Album „Flatpocket – Dispo II Dispo“. Die Instrumental Scheibe ist über das Kölner Label Melting Pot Music erschienen. Meine Wertung: 9/10 für „Flatpocket – Dispo II Dispo“. Die beiden Beatschmiede Lazy Jones und Twit One haben für das Beat-Tape-artige Album 16 Tracks und 3 Skits gebastelt. Wie schon beim Vorgänger „Geldfundphantasyen“ liegt auch bei der aktuellen Produktion von Flatpocket das Ohrenmerk auf relaxten Beats und jazzigen Samples, die so wunderschön vor sich hin knistern. Unter freundlicher Mithilfe Hulk Hodn und C.Tappin von ist ein würdiger und exzellenter Nachfolger für die 2012er Platte entstanden. Hoffentlich bleiben dieses mal ein paar mehr Scheine hängen. Oder besser nicht. Geldsorgen3.0 auf Vinyl wäre schon schön. So in 5 oder 6 Jahren …

Flatpocket – Geldfundphantasyen (Melting Pot Music)

2012, mitten in meiner „Nur noch Spotify Phase“, ist das Album „Flatpocket – Geldfundphantasyen“ erschienen. Sieben Jahre später, mitten in meiner „Endlich wieder Vinyl Phase“, bin ich sehr froh, dass Melting Pot Music das Album von Lazy Jones und Twit One nochmal als Platte (Repress / MPM 150) rausgehauen hat. Das Vinyl habe ich im Doppelpack mit Flatpocket – Dispo II Dispo erstanden. Aber dazu morgen mehr. Die „Geldfundphantasyen“ könnt ihr euch in den Online-Shops von MPM, HHV oder Vindig zulegen.

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für „Flatpocket – Geldfundphantasyen“. Lazy Jones und Twit One, eigentlich reicht das schon für eine positive Bewertung. Trotzdem ein paar warme Worte zu dieser exzellenten Platte. Nomoneynohoney. Auch ohne Geld ist die Platte honigsüß geworden. Die beiden Beatschmiede haben mit „Geldfundphantasyen“ ein grossartiges Instrumental Hip Hop Album geschaffen. Entspannte Beats auf smoothe und knisternde Jazz Samples, ganz grosses Klangkino der Kölner Soundbastler.

Sieben Jahre nach Hello (Nicht Lionel Richie!!!) haben die beiden Hip Hop Protagonisten endlich wieder ein neues Album am Start: „The Return of Glad2Mecha & ILL Treats“. Das Album ist als Deluxe Edition inkl. aller Instrumentals über das Label-Duo Building Block Records / HHV (HHV740) erschienen. 500 Kopien wurden von der 2LP gepresst. Meine Wertung: 9/10 für „The Return of Glad2Mecha & ILL Treats“. Die zweite englisch-amerikanische Co-Produktion zwischen dem Microphone Controller Glad2Mecha aus Phoenix, Arizona, USA und dem Beat Smith ILL Treats aus Brighton, UK hat wieder ein klassisches Hip Hop Album hervorgebracht. Boom Bap Beats und Jazzsamples des Produzenten fusionieren mit grandios abgestimmten Lines des MC und seiner Gäste Grand Puba (Brand Nubian), Psycho Les (Beatnuts), ScienZe und Realistic. Nach dem ersten grossen „Hallo“ ist auch „die Rückkehr“ von Glad2Mecha & ILL Treats ein grossartiges (Doppel-)Vinyl geworden, dass mit den Instrumentals auf den Seiten C und D sogar doppelt punkten kann.
