Tapes 04 2019

Seit der letzten Kassetten-Schau ist wieder einiges an Tapes im Vinyl-41-HQ gelandet oder wieder aufgetaucht. Satte acht MCs habe ich für „Tapes 04 2019“ ausgewählt. Darunter drei Magnetbänder, die mir besonders am Herzen liegen. „PRGMAT – Happy Herbal Harvest“ (Tapeinvader), „Morti Viventear – Dumpster Funk Vol. 1“ und die Staubsound Rakete „Franz Branntwein – Inject tha raw shit“ sind meine heimlichen Favoriten-Tapes in 2019. Instrumentals vom Feinsten. Aber der „Rest“ ist natürlich auch eine Empfehlung wert.

»Dumpster Funk is a beat tape series aimed for rappers and 90’s hip hop heads missing the vibe of the boom bap era. This stylistic exercise is a tribute to the producers that inspired me growing up. Fans of Pete Rock, Buckwild, Premier, Havoc, Lord Finesse and Large Professor should definitely dig this 60 minutes funk/jazz/soul sample fest. It was entirely produced from analogue sources and vintage equipment, the old-fashioned way. From the record, through the 12bit sampler, straight to the 4-track. I chose the cassette format to remain true to the medium of choice of this era.«

Tapes 01-03 2019

Es ist sehr schön zu beobachten, dass neben dem guten alten Vinyl auch die Kassetten wieder richtig in Fahrt gekommen sind. Monat für Monat werden exzellente Tapes veröffentlicht. Einige davon landen dann auch hier im Vinyl-41-HQ. Momentan fehlt mir leider ein wenig die Zeit, um mich jedem Magnetband einzeln zu widmen. Es ist aber viel zu schade die Dinger in der „Ablage“ liegen zu lassen. Deshalb starte ich mit „Tapes 01-03 2019“ mal wieder eine Serie mit den besten Tapes des Monats oder des Quartals. Für den (erneuten) Start stehen die Werke von Alejandrito Argenal, One Month Study Project Vol. 1 (Compilation), Baronski, Marek&Davesn und ChasBeats bereit.
