The Jazzual Suspects (Vinyl Digital)

Zum Record Store Day 2019 ist über das Mörschbacher Label Vinyl Digital die 2LP „The Jazzual Suspects“ (VinDig372) erschienen. 300 Kopien wurde dafür gepresst. Ursprünglich wurde das Jazz-Hop-Album im September 2018 über Om Records aus San Francisco, California, USA digital veröffentlicht.

Verantwortlich für das Projekt „The Jazzual Suspects“ sind der Musiker und Produzent Charlie Tate (Oakland, Calaifornia, USA) himself und die Compilationreihe „Mushroom Jazz“ von Mark Farina, für die der heutige Protagonist auch schon einen Song („This Beat“ / 2008 / Vol. 6) beigesteuert hat. Für das aktuelle und gleichnamige Doppel-Vinyl hat er 17 Tracks produziert. Die 2LP ist gut gefüllt mit oldschooligen Beats, die mit Samples aus Jazz, Funk und Soul aufgepeppt wurden. Man hört ganz deutlich die Liebe zur Golden-Era des Hip Hops heraus. Schönes Ding.

Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Donny Gone“, „Leopold“, „Yo’Schnicken“ und „Denoba“. Erhältlich ist die vinyle 2LP exklusiv im Online-Shop von VinDig. Viel Spass beim reinhören!

Jinsang – In Flight (Vinyl Digital)

Nach „Life“ und „Solitude“ steht mit „Jinsang – In Flight“ mittlerweile das dritte Vinyl des kalifornischen Beatschmieds in meinem Plattenregal. Das Album ist erneut über das Label Vinyl Digital (VINDIG378) erschienen. Es wurden zwei Varianten veröffentlicht: Black and White Vinyl. Die weiße Version war auf 300 Kopien limitiert und ist mittlerweile „Sold Out“. Im Vinyl-41-HQ rotiert die schwarze Variante.

Satte 21 Instrumental Tracks hat Jinsang für „In Flight“ produziert. Das Album überzeugt mit seinen melodiösen Lo-Fi Beats, jazzigen Samples und den einzigartigen passenden Drum-Loops. Sehr chillig das ganze. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Leaving“, „Haven“ und „comfort zone“. Erhältlich ist die Platte im Online-Shop von VinDig, aber leider nur noch in der schwarzen Ausführung. Bmbu – #throwback (Vinyl Digital)

Nach diversen digitalen Veröffentlichungen hat der Beatschmied aus Philadelphia seinen ersten physischen Datenträger veröffentlicht: „Bmbu – #throwback“. Die Platte ist im März 2019 über das Label Vinyl Digital (VinDig382) erschienen. Für die Limited Edition wurden lediglich 300 Kopien in schwarzes Polyvinylchlorid gepresst.

Das total entspannte und zwölf Tracks starke Album des Produzenten aus Pennsylvania ist ein wunderbarer und instrumentaler Cocktail aus Hip Hop, Jazz und Soul. Die friedvollen Klänge von Piano und diversen Blasinstrumenten treffen auf verstaubte MPC Beats mit knisternden Samples. Exzellentes Vinyl-Debüt vom Soundbastler Bmbu aka John Michael Alsace (eine Hälfte vom Production Team BmbuWEST). #throwback ist eine überaus chillige Platte, die direkt zum Tagträumen einlädt. Pro-Tipp: der Hersteller empfiehlt eine Geschwindigkeit von 45 RPM! Sollte man auch einhalten, ansonsten wird es eine Nummer zu chillig. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „#leafvillage“, „#fugitaboutit“ und „#(be)c.ause“.
