Nach „Waver“, „Gamma“ und „Seesaw“ ist „Shape EP“ (DB-026) die vierte Vinyl-Veröffentlichung von Plusma bei Dezi-Belle Records. Der Hamburger Produzent, der auch auf der genialen Chillhop Raw Cuts vertreten ist, hat acht Tracks im Lo-Fi-Style in das schwarze runde Kunststoffteil schnitzen (VINYL CUTTING) lassen. Die auf 100 Kopien limitierte Platte ist bei Bandcamp bereits ausverkauft. hhv.de scheint noch ein paar Exemplare im Angebot zu haben.

Meine Wertung: 7/10 für „Plusma – Shape EP“. IMHO nicht das stärkste Album vom Hamburger Beat Smith, aber vollkommen okayish. 8 Instrumentals wurden vom Berliner Plattenschnitzer Dezi-Belle ins Vinyl geritzt. Die schon 2016 digital erschienene „Shape EP“ kommt +ma typisch sehr chillig rüber. Wie immer verbastelt er solide Beats und gut ausgesuchte Samples für seine (leider wieder sehr kurzen) Tracks. Meine Favoriten: „Small Days“, „Dayida“ und der Rausschmeisser „Costumeparty“.
Für Tapes #7 haben wir alte Bekannte am Start. Toetensen und Mettphonic (Purple Urkel) sind hier schon mal als Beach Hazers (Tapes #2) aufgetaucht. Diesmal sind ihre Solo-Werke „Sprung in die Stadt“ und „Mettbudz“ dabei. Komplettiert wird Tapes #7 durch L-One mit „Farska LP“ (Beat Art Department).
„On the Farska LP, L One processes his impressions of his vacation in Croatia in 2014 and 2015. On every day one song has been created on the beach, only with a MPC500, which carries its title either of the meal (2014) or the drink (2015) of the previous evening.“

Fazit Tapes #7
Das Totensen & Mettphonic derbe Sachen raushauen, war mir schon seit dem Beach Hazers Tape bewusst. Aber die jeweiligen Solo Alben gefallen mir noch ein Stück besser. Trotzdem hat das Duo nicht den Tagessieg erringen können. Der „Gewinner“ der 7. Runde ist L-One mit „Furska LP“. Das Album gefällt mir so gut, dass ich gerade die Anschaffung des passenden Vinyls überdenke. Der Beatbastler aus München hat 15 jazzige Instrumentals produziert, die schon von den einzelnen Titelnamen her zu gefallen wissen. Man müsste nach dem Genuss der „Furska LP“ eigentlich satt und besoffen sein. Aber ich kann die Kassette auch zweimal (oder öfter) am Stück hören. Absolute Empfehlung, natürlich auch für die Tapes aus dem Hause Purple Urkel!
Nach AK420 – Rua Augusta folgt jetzt mit „Mr. Käfer – Travelin“ (PPT-LP-01) der zweite Vinyl-Streich des überaus sympathischen Underground Hiphop Labels POSTPARTUM. Neben dem Vinyl, dass im yellow/red-opaque/black marbled Design daher kommt, habe ich mir auch die passende Kassette (PPT-CC-08) gegönnt. Die volle analoge Dröhnung sozusagen.

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für „Mr. Käfer – Travelin“. Die hübsche marmorierte Platte und das Cover mit OBI Strip sind nicht nur ein optisches Highlight. Auch die produzierten Instrumentals des Beatbastlers aus dem österreichischem Salzburg sind der Knaller und klingen in Kunststoff gepresst fantastisch. Da hat das Label POSTPARTUM. erneut ein gutes Näschen bewiesen. LoFi Beats und passende Samples von vorn bis hinten, so muss das sein. Meine Favoriten: „Atasilu“, „Where Are You From“ und „Changes“. Hört mal rein, es lohnt sich!

Fazit Tapes #6
DerRalle konserviert mit dem Tape „Am Strand“ den Sommer für das restliche Jahr. Das Ding ist eine richtige Gute-Laune-Kassette. DIGGINSACK haut mit „Beat Battle Compilation Vol. 1“ einen schönen Querschnitt der gleichnamigen FB-Gruppe („This is a chilled Group for HipHop Beatmakers who love the art of sampling.“) raus. Ich habe mit der Kassette wieder viele (für mich) neue Produzenten und Beatbastler entdeckt, die es jetzt zu beobachten gilt. Gern mehr davon! Vom schottischen Label HNDPCKD stammt „Milk & Honey“ von Cheeky Forty. Da geht so richtig der Funk ab. Die Tapes vom Stapel #6 sind wieder durchweg empfehlenswert. Daumen hoch.

Fazit Tapes #5
Wieder sind durchweg alle Kassetten eine persönliche Empfehlung von mir. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir das Tape „Flakodiablo & Knowz – From Da Last Corner“ aus dem Hause DirtyBeauty. Die beiden Südamerikaner haben rares Material zusammengekratzt und damit 40 Minuten vom feinsten Boombap produziert.
BTW: „… Doch der Verkaufstrend für Kassetten zeigt aufwärts – die jüngst veröffentlichte „Nielsen-Musik-Studie“ belegt, dass die Absatzzahlen für Musikkassetten im Jahr 2016 gegenüber dem Vorjahr um 74% höher lagen – es wurden 55.000 mehr Tapes verkauft als 2015.“
