Birocratic – Beets 4 (Chillhop Records)

Im März 2017 ist mit Birocratic – Beets 4, wie der Name schon verrät, der vierte Teil seiner Beets-Serie als digitales Album erschienen. Am 21.09.2017 hat dann das Label Chillhop Records über QRATES eine Crowdfunding-Kampagne gestartet, die am 21.03.2018 erfolgreich abgeschlossen wurde. Im Anschluss wurden 373 Einheiten von Beets 4 gepresst und ausgeliefert. Ein handnummeriertes Exemplar (211/373) rotiert seit kurzem auch im Vinyl-41-HQ. Wer die QRATES-Aktion verpasst, auf den warten noch ein paar Exemplare des Doppel-Vinyl mit Gatefold Cover in den bestens bekannten Online-Shops von HHV und VinDig (lieferbar in 2 bis 3 Wochen).

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Birocratic – Beets 4. Knapp zwei Jahre hat es gedauert, bis der Nachfolger von Beets 3 erschienen ist. Die Zeit dazwischen wurde vom New Yorker Schlafzimmer-Produzenten offensichtlich gut genutzt. 16 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks hat er für das Album produziert. Jazzige Beats, knackige Drum-Loops und groovende Samples, die teilweise an die guten alten Big Bands erinnern, sind das Grundgerüst für dieses Doppel-Vinyl. Komplettiert wird das ganze mit funkigen Synthesizerklängen und passenden Voice-Schnipseln. Chillige 2-LP für ein entspannte Zeit.

Grossartiges Zusammenspiel von jazzigen Samples, Trompete, Saxophone, Piano und einiges an musikalischem Handwerkszeug mehr. Mit L’indécis – Playtime rotiert derzeit der Nachfolger von Plethoria auf dem lokalen Plattendreher. Die über das Label Chillhop Records erschienene EP wurde wieder über QRATES vorfinanziert. 500 Kopien wurden nach dem erfolgreichen Pre-Order project gepresst. Jedes einzelne Vinyl ist Dank der Handnummerierung ein Unikat. Bei HHV ist die Platte bereits ausverkauft. Im Online-Shop von Vinyl Digital scheint es noch ein paar Exemplare zu geben … Haut rein!

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für L’indécis – Playtime. Der im französischen Grenoble beheimatete Beatschmied hat seinem Label wieder alle Ehre gemacht. Für die EP hat er acht instrumentale und chillhoppige Tracks produziert, die mit total entspannten Beats und jazzigen Samples gebastelt wurden. IMHO nicht ganz so stark wie sein Vinyl-Debüt Plethoria, aber trotzdem eine satte Empfehlung aus dem Vinyl-41-HQ.

Favoriten: Soulful, Crossing Borders und Rekindling

Chillhop Essentials – Spring 2018

Der instrumentale Frühling ist da. Chillhop Essentials – Spring 2018 ist am 22.06.2018 im Vinyl-41-HQ eingetroffen, etwas unpünktlich, aber egal. Die 2LP wurde wieder über QRATES vertrieben. Die Mädels und Jungs von Chillhop Records haben 1200 Kopien pressen lassen. Hier ist die Nummer 806 gelandet. Die beiden Vinyl werden von einem hübschen Gatefold Cover geschützt, dass von Mauro Martins designt wurde. Bei HHV (Preorder 13.07.2018) könnt Ihr die Compilation noch vorbestellen. Greift zu, es lohnt sich!

Meine Wertung: 10/10 für Chillhop Essentials – Spring 2018. Bei Instagram so: stainlexz_music: „Die ist Bombe, ne?“ – vinyl_41: „@stainlexz_music absolut. IMHO die beste(n) Platte(n) von allen bisherigen Essentials“ – stainlexz_music: „@vinyl_41 word!“. Viel mehr braucht man eigentlich nicht darüber schreiben. Mache ich aber trotzdem. Die 22 Tracks starke 2LP ist vollgepackt mit chillhoppigem Instrumental Hip Hop. Die Compilation bietet wieder ein krasses Miteinander von bekannten und (mir noch) unbekannten Beatschmieden. Da hat das A&R Team von Chillhop wieder ganze Arbeit geleistet. Ganz starkes Doppel-Album. Dafür gibt es die volle Punktzahl.
