Das Berliner Label Dezi-Belle, eigentlich für vinyle Veröffentlichungen bekannt, macht jetzt auch in Ausnahmsweise digital. Das Album noise. – strains wird bei Bandcamp lediglich zum digitalen Verzehr angeboten. Aber es besteht noch Hoffnung:

Als ich vor kurzem Tales of Another Direction Vol. 2 das erste mal in den Händen hielt, ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich zum ersten Teil nicht ein Wort in dieses Internetz geschrieben habe. Das hole ich dann hiermit auch gleich mal nach. Von beiden Platten (MR003; MR007) hat das griechische Label Melting Records je 500 Kopien pressen lassen. Vom ersten Teil sind noch ca. 30 Exemplare auf Bandcamp verfügbar, von Vol. 2 dürfte es noch ausreichend geben. Holt Euch beide, es lohnt sich.

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für Tales of Another Direction Vol. 1 & 2. Beide Sampler bestechen mit jazzigen Samples und einer coolen Mischung aus Trip Hop und Instrumental Hip Hop. Auch hier kommt wieder zum tragen, was ich an diesen Compilations besonders mag: Various Artists. Viele, zum Teil mir unbekannte, Produzenten haben die beiden Platten mit knisternder Musik gefüllt. Von Vol. 1 kannte ich lediglich SomehowArt, bei Vol. 2 ist El Jazzy Chavo meine bekannte Grösse. Will heissen, es gab wieder eine Menge Neues für mich zu entdecken. So muss das und so macht das richtig Spass!
Favoriten: Savages – Fun (Napz Remix) und Q Funktion – True Love von Vol. 1 sowie smallFall feat. Vassilina – Phoenix und Madball Scientists – Sometimes It’s Voodoo von Vol. 2
Kanada ist hier bei Vinyl 41 – bis auf ein paar Tapes – noch nicht so gross vertreten. Das ändert sich jetzt mit dem Vinyl GrandHuit & Atamone – Venture, dass in einer Auflage von 300 Kopien über das Label Reality Check erschienen ist. Bei Bandcamp, HHV und Vinyl Digital ist das gute Stück noch zu haben.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für GrandHuit & Atamone – Venture. Die beiden Beatschmiede, die in Reunion Island und Montreal beheimatet sind, haben mit dieser Platte ein grossartiges Debüt hingelegt. Mit DJ FIP an ihrer Seite haben sie 10 Tracks produziert, die durchweg Spass machen. Wie schon beim designierten Vorgänger GoomarThe Astral Factor ist das Album Venture prall gefüllt mit feinstem instrumentalem Hip und Trip Hop. Genau so, wie es der Schreiber dieser Zeilen mag.
Tapes #34 präsentiert die Kassetten OJ Son – Garden Loop, CoryaYo – More Life und Devonwho – Betaloops. CoryaYo ist hier im Blog kein Unbekannter. OJ Son und Devonwho dagegen geben ihr Debüt bei Vinyl 41. Drei grossartige Tapes, die ich gnadenlos empfehlen kann. Viel Spass beim reinhören!

Fazit Tapes #34
CoryaYo – More Life
und Devonwho – Betaloops bieten mit 20 bzw. 42 Tracks ordentlich was auf die Hörmuschel. Beide Tapes sind voll mit solide produziertem Instrumental Hip Hop und stehen für mich auf einer Stufe. Der Gewinner bei Tapes #34 ist für mich aber OJ Son – Garden Loop. Der indonesische Beatschmied hat mich mit seinen souligen Samples und chilligen Beats voll überzeugt. Besonders begeistert hat mich Love is What You Make it . Back to the Sixties. Absoluter Ohrwurm.
. „One of the most underrated producers of 2017“ ist bei Vinyl Digital zu lesen. Stimmt vielleicht und könnte daran liegen, dass man so gut wie nichts über den holländischen Beatschmied in diesem Internetz findet. Was ich gefunden habe, ist das red colored Vinyl, dass im Dezember 2017 mit einer Auflage von 300 Kopien (VinDig281) erschienen ist.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Brenky – Unsettled. Smoothe Beats und jazzige Samples, perfekt für die gerade vorherrschenden dunklen Tage. Brenky, der bei Bandcamp schon einige digitale Alben veröffentlicht hat, legt mit Unsettled ein sauberes Debüt in Vinyl auf den Plattenteller. Zudem sieht die Platte als red colored Edition auch noch richtig gut aus. Ein optisches und musikalisches Schmuckstück, dass ihr euch nicht entgehen lassen solltet.
Favoriten: It’s Gone, This Aint Real und I hope I see u there
