Darf ich vorstellen? Das dritte Vinyl vom ungarischen Label Blunt Shelter Records: The Drumlord – Sons of the City. Erneut hat man QRATES mit dem Crowdfunding und der anschliessenden Produktion beauftragt. 200 Kopien wurden innerhalb von drei Monaten vorfinanziert, gepresst und unter die Viynlliebhaber gebracht. HHV und Vinyl Digital haben auch eingekauft. Ein paar Exemplare von der limited Edition sind noch gelistet. Zuschlagen. Bei Discogs wird es teuerer ;-)

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für The Drumlord – Sons of the City. Der Beatschmied aus Budapest hat 16 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks auf die Nadeln der Welt losgelassen. Als Genre wurde vom Label „electrosynthlofijazzboombap“ definiert. Passt ganz gut. Das auf StackOne – Parallax und Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab folgende Album kommt sehr entspannt rüber und verkürzt die Wartezeit auf den ersten Label-Sampler. BTW: Bombed in the Blunt Shelter könnte noch etwas Unterstützung gebrauchen. Haut rein!

QRATES macht es manchmal echt spannend. Das Vinyl-Crowdfunding-Projekt tusken. x Flitz&Suppe – Nomads Void (Nyati / Always Proper) wurde im November 2017 gestartet und Mitte Mai 2018 mit 300 Kopien beendet. Ausgeliefert wurde die Platte im Juli 2018. Aber das Warten hat sich gelohnt. In den Onlineshops von HHV und Vinyl Digital sind noch ein paar Exemplare gelistet. Gönnt sie Euch!

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für tusken. x Flitz&Suppe – Nomads Void. Ganz grosses Klangkino, dass die beiden Beatschmiede für das Vinyl gezaubert haben. Das österreichisch-deutsche Joint Venture tusken. x Flitz&Suppe hat für die Platte 16 grandiose Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks produziert. Spacige Beats zwischen Boom Bap und Lo-Fi treffen auf jazzige Samples. Exzellentes Album. Die beiden Produzenten sollten sich des Öfteren im Studio über den Weg laufen. Nomads Void Vol. 2 klingt doch gut, oder?! ;-)

Nach etwas Rumstreunerei auf Bandcamp bin ich auf das Album AUTOHYME – HEADSPACE gestossen und es hat mich gleich total fasziniert. Denn irgendwie ist dieses digitale Instrumental Tape von Jason The Argonaut ein Flashback in eine vergangene Zeit. Die 20 Tracks des kalifornischen Beat Smith erinnern mich streckenweise an Captain Future, an antike Sci-Fi Serien / Filme und an den Song Rah Band – Clouds Across The Moon. Und ein bisschen Stranger Things ist auch dabei. Alles sehr spacig, alles sehr awesome. HEADSPACE steht bei Bandcamp als „name your price“ Download / Stream und als Kassette (limitiert auf 50 Stück / 10 USD + Versand) zur käuflichen Mitnahme bereit.

Der ukrainische Beatschmied Dmitry Klimchuk hat wieder sein Hardwarearsenal in Betrieb genommen und ein neues Album gebastelt. KLIM beats – Beat Aesthetics nennt sich das gute Stück, dass über das Label NINETOFIVE (Worldwide Beatmakers / NTF046) erschienen ist. Ich habe das auf 200 Stück limitierte Vinyl über QRATES erworben, wo das Album dieses mal direkt in die Pre-order (11.05.-11.06.2018) gegangen ist. Meine Wertung: 8/10 für KLIM beats – Beat Aesthetics. 15 solide Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks hat der Beat Smith aus Kiew, der hier im Vinyl-41-HQ mittlerweile ein gern gesehener Stammgast ist, seinen Akais und Rolands entlockt. KLIMbeats-üblich sind die krachenden Boom Bap Beats und souligen Samples sauber produziert und lassen von der ersten bis zur letzten Rille volle Kanne den Kopf nicken. So muss das!
