Ich hatte die Hoffnung schon aufgegeben. Aber Melting Records hat das geschafft, was ein anderes Label versaut hat … Ach, egal! Jetzt liegt das Vinyl Moderator – The World Within auf dem heimischen Plattenteller und ich bin zufrieden. 500 Kopien hat das griechische Label in weisses Kunststoff pressen lassen. Bei Bandcamp könnt ihr euch ein Exemplar zulegen. Gut angelegtes Geld.

Wertung

Meine Wertung: 10/10 für Moderator – The World Within. 2015 erschien das Album als digitale Version über das Label Cult Classic Records. 2017 wollte das belgische Label Dloaw die 9 Tracks des griechischen Beat Smith als Vinyl veröffentlichen und ist inklusive vieler ~~Ausreden~~ Erklärungsversuche kläglich gescheitert (es sollte nicht das letzte mal sein). Um so mehr hat es mich überrascht, dass Melting Records das so schnell auf die Reihe bekommen hat. Die scheinen ihr Geschäft zu verstehen. Daumen hoch! Natürlich auch für Moderator. Denn das Album gehört einfach auf Vinyl. Die Mischung aus Instrumental Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Jazz, Soul und Electronic macht die Scheibe so interessant und einzigartig. Auch die beiden vokalen Titel, die stimmlich durch Jeanette Robertson, Witness und Nieve unterstützt wurden, sind der Knaller. Moderator und Melting Records, das passt!

Favoriten: Harlem River, Almost There und It Wasn’t For You

CoachMotel – The Tiny Planet

Nach Emapea – Zoning Out Vol. 1 hat es erneut oder mal wieder ein polnischer Beatschmied in den Blog geschafft: CoachMotel – The Tiny Planet. Der Tag Team Partner von René Schier wandelt erneut auf Solopfaden. Aber so richtig auch wieder nicht, denn der gute René war trotzdem irgendwie beteiligt. Er hat das Cover von The Tiny Planet gestaltet und auch bei Track 5 seine musikalischen Finger im Spiel gehabt. Aber zurück zum Beattape. CoachMotel hat für seinen sphärischen Trip 9 jazzige Tracks produziert, die ihr euch bei Bandcamp für schmale 2 Euro in digitaler Form abholen könnt.

Da ist sie auch schon, die nächste optische und akustische Schönheit vom Label POSTPARTUM.: Eto Paranoia – Healing Poison (PPT-LP-06). Das 10 Tracks starke Album vom russischen Beatschmied wurde schon mal im Jahr 2017 über Tape Wreck (TW-S-02) als Kassette veröffentlicht. Jetzt hat es die Mukke auf 250 green/yellow/black marbeld und 150 black Vinyl geschafft. Die erstere Variante ist bei POSTPARTUM. bereits ausverkauft. Von der Black Edition sind noch ein paar Exemplare verfügbar.

Wertung

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für Eto Paranoia – Healing Poison. Beim ersten Durchhören wähnte ich mich teilweise auf einem Festival in den Neunzigern, bei dem House Of Pain, Cypress Hill und die Delinquent Habits aufgetreten sind. Oldschool vom Feinsten. Alles ein bisschen krachiger und lauter als die bisherigen POSTPARTUM.-Veröffentlichungen, aber keineswegs schlechter. Eto Paranoia, der Beat Smith aus St. Petersburg, hat auch ein paar Gäste zur Produktion eingeladen. Gemeinsam mit Rukus, Adlib Swayze, Thelonious Coltrane und Kunfu hat er ordentlich auf seine Geräte „eingeprügelt“. Ruff and Rugged Boom Bap.

Favoriten: Da Ruffneck Diggers, From The Slums (feat. Adlib Swayze) und Fade Out The Played Out (feat. Kunfu)

Beat Battle Compilation Vol. 4 (Digginsack)

Digginsack hat einen weiteren Teil der genialen Beatmaker-Serie veröffentlicht: Beat Battle Compilation Vol. 4. 20 Tracks haben es nach diversen Beat Battles auf die Compilation geschafft. Ob der Sampler, wie bei den Vorgängern üblich, auch als Kassette veröffentlicht wird, konnte ich bis jetzt noch nicht herausfinden. Schaun wir mal … Bis dahin kann man sich das digitale Album bei Bandcamp als „name your price“ Download bzw. Stream zulegen.

Genau dieses Album hätte ich mir auf Vinyl gewünscht: MZ Boom Bap & Ryler Smith – Wakilisha (Instrumentals). Aber nein, es musste auf der Platte wieder rumgerappt werden. Spass beiseite. Ich freue mich natürlich, dass Vinyl Digital jetzt die Instrumentals des portugiesischen Beatsmith veröffentlicht hat, wenn auch „nur“ digital. Vielleicht findet das Ding ja doch noch seinen Weg auf das begehrte schwarze Vinyl oder auf ein kompaktes Magnetband …
