Mit „Elijah Nang – Gaijin LP“ ist mal wieder ein kleiner Geheimtipp im Vinyl-41-HQ gelandet. Die 2LP wurde erfolgreich über die japanische Crowdfunding Plattform QRATES vorfinanziert, hergestellt und ausgeliefert. 200 Kopien waren das Ziel. 273 Einheiten sind es dann zwischen Februar und April 2019 geworden. Hier rotiert Nr. 244.
Den Briten Elijah Nang hatte ich bisher noch nicht auf dem Schirm bzw. Plattenteller. Ist auch irgendwie schwierig, da er mit der „Gaijin LP“ sein Vinyl-Debüt hingelegt hat. 21 Tracks, die auf zwei Platten verteilt sind, hat der Londoner Beatschmied produziert und erzählt damit eine Geschichte aus dem Land der Samurai. Dementsprechend klingen die entspannten Instrumental Hip Hop Beats und Samples auch sehr asiatisch. Eine Mischung, die mir schon bei Kalaidos Moonlit Tales sehr gut gefallen hat.

Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Journey to the West“, „Grand Dojo“ und „The Forest of a Thousand Blades“.
Leider scheinen es die Platten nicht in die deutschen Online-Shops geschafft zu haben. Bei Discogs kostet das billigste Exemplar auch schon wieder 75 US Währungseinheiten (zzgl. Versand) … Wenn jemand einen Shop mit passablen Preisen für die „Gaijin LP“ entdeckt, dann bitte kurz eine Nachricht in den Kommentaren hinterlassen. Danke!

The Breed x Shuko – Dippin (For The Love Of It Records)
Mit „The Breed x Shuko – Dippin“ ist Anfang Juni 2019 das erste gemeinsame Album der beiden Prominenz-Produzenten erschienen. Das Vinyl wurde über das Label For The Love Of It Records (FTLOI023) veröffentlicht. Herstellung und Vertrieb wurden von Groove Attack Distribution übernommen. Das Artwork stammt von Mirko Fuss.
Nach einigen Solo-Alben und Produktionen für andere Künstler (Casper, Cypress Hill, Nipsey Hussle, Cro, Farid Bang, Lil Wayne uvm.) haben sich The Breed und Shuko zusammengesetzt und DAS instrumentale Sommeralbum 2019 rausgehauen. 11 Tracks mit satten West-Coast Beats inkl. Talk-Box-Einsatz à la Roger Troutman sind auf „Dippin“ gelandet. Bestens gelaunter G-Funk vom allerfeinsten. Ein Rap-Song hat sich dann mit „Life In Los Angeles“ ganz am Ende doch noch reingeschlichen. Aber selbst die Wortbeiträge von King Tee, MC Eiht und Benny Sing können dem guten Gesamteindruck des Albums nichts anhaben ;-)
Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Cali Sunshine“, „Juicey“ und „Life In Los Angeles (Instrumental)“. Erhältlich ist das Vinyl in gut sortieren Online-Shops wie HHV Records, VinDig oder juno records.

Das Vinyl „Oatmello – Soft Landing“, dass über Inner Ocean Records (INNER104) erschienen ist, beherbergt zwei EPs. Auf Seite A ist „Soft Landing“ zu hören und auf Seite B „Between Us“. Die Pressung der Platte wurde über einer Crowdfunding Kampagne bei QRATES realisiert. Das geplante Ziel von 200 Kopien wurde erreicht und mit finalen 211 Exemplaren knapp übererfüllt. Das geniale Comic-Artwork stammt von Babyeyez.
Insgesamt 12 Instrumental Tracks vom Beatschmied aus Portland, Oregon, USA haben auf dem weissen Vinyl Platz gefunden. Beide Seiten sind gut gefüllt mit überaus chilligen Lo-Fi Beats, die von Klavier- und Gitarrenklängen sowie jazzigen Samples gut unterstützt werden. Auch für diese Platte gilt: 45RPM! Sonst wird es eine Nummer zu entspannt ;-)
Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Amsterdam“, „Flash Photography“ und „Just Checking In“. Erhältlich ist das weisse Schmuckstück direkt beim Label oder im Online-Shop von HHV.

Psalm Trees und Moose Dawa, die schon bei Birds of a Feather: Volume 1 an einem Song gearbeitet haben, sind jetzt mit einem gemeinsamen Album am Start. Das Vinyl nennt sich „Psalm Trees x Moose Dawa – Dreams From The Shore“ und ist im Juni 2019 über das Label Radio Juicy (RJ084) erschienen. Veröffentlichung und Vertrieb wurden von Urban Waves übernommen. Die Platte ist auf schmale 200 Kopien limitiert. Artwork und Design stammen von Andreas Pedersen. Für das vinyle Mastering ist Pawcut (WTM) verantwortlich.
Die beiden Beatschmiede haben für „Dreams From The Shore“ satte 20 Tracks gebastelt. Produziert wurde zwischen Brighton, Malmö und Rotterdam. Entspannte Beats mit jazzigen Samples sind das exzellente Ergebnis der Kollaboration von Psalm Trees und Moose Dawa. Das passt wie Ass auf Eimer! Chillige Summer Vibes vom feinsten. Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „No Lies“, „Drupe“ und „Lonely“.
