Über das Joint Venture von Radio Juicy, Urban Waves und HHV ist mit Quickly, Quickly – Paths eine instrumentale Perle erschienen. Gute Wahl für das Debüt des aufstrebenden Beat Smith, denn über das Label-Trio sind schon eine Menge guter Platten veröffentlicht worden. Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Quickly, Quickly – Paths. Für sein Debüt-Album hat der junge Beatschmied aus Portland, Oregon 16 chillige Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks produziert. Jazzige Beats und Samples, wimmernde Gitarren und selbsteingespielte Pianoklänge lassen die ganze Platte sehr nostalgisch klingen. Das grossartige Cover Design von James Neilson macht die Platte nicht nur zu einem musikalischen Schmuckstück. Ein überaus solides Debüt in Lo-Fi, dass bei mir Vorfreude auf mehr auslöst.
Favoriten: car wash, hawthorne (feat. cav) und altruism
