Das Wiener Independent Label Duzz Down San feiert in diesem Jahr 10 jähriges Bestehen. Glückwunsch! Zu diesem Anlass wurde heute eine Compilation veröffentlicht und es werden zwei Labelnights veranstaltet. Diese finden am 05.10.2018 in Wien (Flex Cafe) und am 03.11.2018 in Innsbruck (PMK) mit zahlreichen Livekonzerten und Dj-Sets im großen Rahmen statt. Da ich an beiden Terminen keine Zeit habe, bin ich auf die Compilation angewiesen, um standesgemäss mitzufeiern. Und dieses Tape ist echt fett geworden. Die Waxolutionists, Testa, Mettphonic, Toetensen und viele mehr haben für Duzz Down San – X ihre Beats zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Kassette ist mit 28 Tracks bis zum letzten Meter prall gefüllt. Zwischen Essentials und Raw Cuts schienen die Chillhopper noch etwas Platz zu haben. Den haben sie jetzt mit der Compilation Chillhop daydreams ordentlich ausgefüllt. Für die Erstellung und den Vertrieb des analogen Datenträgers war wieder der japanische Dienstleister QRATES verantwortlich. 500 handnummerierte Kopien wurden in Orange Colored Vinyl gepresst. Hier Im Vinyl-41-HQ ist das 240. Schmuckstück gelandet. Bei HHV und Vinyl Digital (Pre-order) sind noch ein paar Exemplare verfügbar. Haut rein!

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für Chillhop daydreams. Wenn Tempo der mittlerweile geläufige Gattungsname für Papiertaschentücher ist, dann könnte sich daydreams als Inbegriff für Entspanntheit etablieren. Was für ein lässiges Album. 18 total chillige Tracks mit relaxten Beats und jazzigen Samples hat die überaus fitte A&R Abteilung des niederländischen Labels für diese Compilation ausgewählt. Legt das Vinyl auf, schnappt euch einen Kaffee, macht es euch auf eurem Sitz- oder Liegemobiliar bequem und gebt euch euren Tagträumen hin. Prädikat: Chillhop vom Feinsten!

Nach Into The Deep Ocean (Village Live) steht mit Funkonami – Low Fidelity Whisperer das zweite Vinyl des griechischen Beatschmieds in meinem Plattenregal. Das Album ist über das französische Label Effiscienz erschienen und auf 300 Kopien (EFFI027LP) limitiert. Man konnte anfänglich zwischen Multicolor Splatter (50), Orange Crush (125) und Royal Blue Vinyl (125) auswählen. Hier ist das gecrushte Orange gelandet. Direkt bei Effiscienz ist nur noch die blaue Variante verfügbar. Bei HHV steht der Status ganz farblos auf Pre-order.

Wertung

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Funkonami – Low Fidelity Whisperer. Auch wenn das Album IMHO nicht ganz so stark wie der Vorgänger Into The Deep Ocean ist, überzeugt es mit krachenden Drums, fetten Boom Bap Beats und passenden (Voice-)Samples. Man merkt dem griechischen Beat Smith die gute Laune an, die er wahrscheinlich beim produzieren mit seiner SP 1200 hatte. Alle 14 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks sind voller guter Schwingungen und animieren zum fröhlichen Kopfnicken. Für das Design von Vinyl und Cover inkl. OBI Strip gibt es die Höchstwertung in der B-Note on top.

Wertung

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für Joe Corfield – Patterns. Der vinyle Nachfolger von Phase Shift ist mit 18 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks prall gefüllt. Insgesamt hat der UK Beatschmied sogar 21 Titel für das Album produziert. Die drei „fehlenden“ Stücke könnt ihr digital nachholen. Aber das nur am Rande. Das Vinyl Patterns besticht mit einem warmen Sound, gefühlvollen Beats und jazzig knisternden Samples. Downtempo vom Feinsten. Drehen sie die Boxen (etwas) auf, lehnen sie sich zurück und geniessen sie die entspannten Klänge von Joe Corfield. Exzellentes Album.

Favoriten: Odd Ratio, Gypsy Fire, When I’m With U und Electric Forest
