»Reinforcing the global nature of the hip hop community, Cold Busted fam The Deli, Es-K, and Jansport J met in Madrid, Spain, to record an ambitious new project. Convening for the occasion of a Spanish release party for the Es-K album ReCollection, a studio and temporary home was constructed, the ‘Beat Embassy’ brand was formed, and the work began. Inspiration was rampant — collaborations with local MCs and curious visitors added weight to the project as creatives from around the world unified to create shared art. The result is the album Amparo.«

The Expert – Excursions (Cold Busted)

Einen irischen Beatschmied und sein Vinyl hatte ich bis jetzt noch nicht im Regal. Das hat sich mit „The Expert – Excursions“ schlagartig geändert. Die Platte ist über das Label Cold Busted (BUSTEDINCHES94) erschienen. Lediglich 250 Kopien wurden in schwarzes Polyvinylchlorid gepresst. Das Design satmmt von Sebastian Fraye und Megan Kearney. Um das farbenfrohe Cover-Photo hat sich Davey Sexton gekümmert.

Ist The Expert sonst eher als Produzent für Messiah J auffällig geworden, so wandelt er jetzt mit „Excursions“ auf großartigen Solo-Pfaden. 20 Tracks hat der Beat Smith aus Dublin für seine musikalischen Ausflüge gebastelt. Hip Hop Beats zwischen Chillhop und Golden Era, Samples aus Soul, Funk und Jazz, die perfekte Mischung für ein süperbes Instrumental Album. Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Believe In This“, „Badger Parade“, „Violet Sun“ und „Z Is For Xylophone“.

The Deli – Vibes 3 (Cold Busted)

Nach Daydreaming (Kid Abstrakt) und Jazz Cat ist mit „The Deli – Vibes 3“ (BUSTEDINCHES101) das dritte Vinyl des texanischen Beatschmieds im Vinyl-41-HQ gelandet. Das Album wurde 2017 erstmalig über Cold Busted veröffentlicht. Zwei Jahre später wurde es geremastered und in „Purple colored“ Polyvinylchlorid gepresst. Die Neuauflage wurde auf 500 Kopien limitiert.

Die stattliche Anzahl von 18 Tracks hat The Deli aka David Pryor für „Vibes 3“ produziert. Jazzige Beats und knisternde Samples bilden die Grundlage für das süperbe und oldschoolig anmutende Hip Hop Werk. Solides Instrumental Album, dass IMHO nicht ganz an den eigentlichen Nachfolger „Jazz Cat“ rankommt. Trotzdem absolut empfehlenswert. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Cherries“, „Fall Breeze“, „Fall Breeze“ (absoluter Kracher!) und „The Rhyme“.

Es-K – ReCollection (Cold Busted)

Damit die Zeit bis Continuance nicht zu lang wird, hat der in Burlington, Vermont, USA stationierte Beatschmied mal eben das Album „Es-K – ReCollection“ veröffentlich. So rede ich mir die Wartezeit jedenfalls schön. Das Vinyl ist über das kalifornische Label Cold Busted (BUSTEDINCHES97) mit einer Auflage von 250 Kopien erschienen.

24 – realtiv kurze – Instrumental Tracks hat das Essential Knowledge des Hip Hops für „ReCollection“ produziert. Den Elementen des Periodensystems folgend, schwanken die Beats zwischen der Leichtigkeit von Carbon, dem Glanz von Chrom und der Härte von Cobalt hin und her. Von mystisch über leidenschaftlich bis anmutig, viele Stimmungen werden durch die verschiedenen Melodien und knisternden Samples bedient. Schönes Konzeptalbum, dass ich erst nach einigen Rotationen „verstanden“ und für gut befunden habe. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „SDM“, „Ptssm“, „CBLT“ und „TN“.
