Oddisee – The Odd Tape. YAPIA. Yet Another Perfect Instrumental Album. Das Vinyl im Cream/Brown/Orange Splatter Design wird über das Label Mello Music Group (MMG-00080-1) vertrieben und sieht verdammt hübsch aus. Aber noch mehr gefällt mir der Klang der Musik, der in das bunte Kunststoff gepresst wurde. Hamma! The Odd Tape ist seit dem ersten Auflegen ein instrumentales Highlight in meiner Plattensammlung.

Wertung für Oddisee – The Odd Tape
Meine Wertung: 10/10 für „Oddisee – The Odd Tape“. Super Drums, entspannte Beats in Hip-Hop, Soul und Jazz … der in Brooklyn beheimatete Beatsmith und Rapper hat mit den 12 instrumentalen Tracks ein richtig fettes Album produziert. Die ganze Platte ist wie aus einem Stück gefeilt, macht Spass von der ersten bis zur letzten Rille. Dazu kommt noch das fantastische Design/Artwork von Cover, Sleeve und Vinyl. Da passt einfach alles. Perfekt! (Sorry für die Anhäufung von Superlativen, aber ich finde das ganze Album so richtig rattenscharf.) Favoriten: Right Side of the Bed , No Sugar No Cream und Still Sleeping.

Fazit Tapes #17
Die drei schwergewichtigen Tapes BLESS Vol. 1 (2 Tapes) und Selected Loops haben einige mir schon bekannte Betaschmiede (z.B. Eevee, PRGMAT, axion117, MF Eistee oder L One) an Bord, aber von den meisten Produzenten habe ich vorher noch nichts gehört. Genau das ist der Punkt an diesen Samplern, der mich immer wieder schwer begeistert. Neue Produzenten, frische Beats, so muss das. Legt Euch diese Tapes zu, absolute Empfehlung.
Pre-Order: Johny Holiday – Coconut Dandy. Am 13. Oktober 2017 erscheint das erste Soloalbum von Johny Holiday. Der Schweizer Beatsmith veröffentlicht das weisse Vinyl über das Label Radicalis Music (RMG043).

snaer. und Sweeps bieten mit drftwoods (Vorgänger von Veranda) und tomorrow super gechillte Lo-Fi Tapes an, die eigentlich jeden zum entspannten Kopfnicken auf der Kautsch bringen (müssten). So richtig überrascht bei Tapes #16 hat mich aber Murry mit Himmel un Äd. Gemeint ist zum Glück nicht die gleichnamige rheinische Mahlzeit, sondern das erstes Release des aus Köln stammenden Beatsmith. Das Tape wurde „lediglich“ mit Sampler und Synthie zusammengebastelt. Zitat: „fuck computers“. Hamma! Gefällt mir richtig gut das jazzige Hip-Hop-Ding und die anderen beiden Kassetten natürlich auch.
Tapes #15 beschäftigt sich mit den Anfängen bzw. ersten Veröffentlichungen des Labels Keller Flavour. Ich bin schon ein wenig stolz, dass die Tapes mit den Labelcodes KF00 – 02 jetzt einen Platz in meinem Kassettenregal gefunden haben. Für Skizzen, Keller Flavour und Keller Flavour 2 – Vom Keller bis zum Bordstein zeichnet sich der Kellercheffe dasd himself verantwortlich. Viel Spaß beim reinhören!

Die Erstausgaben des Münchner Keller Labels in meinem Kassettenregal, mehr kann man als analoger Jäger und Sammler eigentlich nicht erreichen. Aber für Euch da draussen kein Grund zur Freude, ich mache natürlich trotzdem weiter. Alle drei Tapes kommen erwartungsgemäss voll oldschoolig rüber und machen trotz des hohen Alters von 2 und 3 Jahren sehr viel Spass beim Hören und Kopfnicken. Klassiker eben!
