Meine Wertung: 10/10 für „Daryl Donald – Solitude“. Die Platte ist IMHO so gut, dass ich in 2017 nochmal die ultimative 10 hochhalten muss darf. Das Debüt-Album des Beatschmiedes aus Edinburgh macht von Track 1 bis 15 richtig Spass und ist nie langweilig. Samples aus Jazz und Soul garniert mit passenden Voiceschnipseln, chillige Drums und der sparsamer gehaltene Griff in die Klaviertasten, der Schotte Daryl Donald versteht sein Handwerk. Absolute Empfehlung!
Für Tapes #31 war mir wieder keine Mühe zu gross. Ich habe Kassetten aus Schweden, Spanien und Kanada rankarren lassen, um euch ordentlich zu unterhalten. Insert Tape One, WAX TRAVELLERS und FUTURES Vol. 3 nennen sich die instrumentalen Werke, die euch von Insert Tape, MONKED RECORDS und Inner Ocean Records präsentiert werden. Auch für Tapes #31 kann ich keinen eindeutigen Siegen ausmachen. Die Sampler Insert Tape One, WAX TRAVELLERS und FUTURES Vol. 3 wissen voll zu überzeugen. Alle drei Kassetten bieten mit insgesamt 86 Tracks stundenlangen instrumentalen Hip-Hop-Genuss. Dreifacher Daumen hoch!
Kurz nach Raw Cuts 2 trudelte auch schon das nächste Vinyl aus dem Hause der holländischen Entspannungsmusik ein: Chillhop Essentials – Fall 2017. Meine Wertung: 8/10 für „Chillhop Essentials – Fall 2017“. Alte Crew und (mir) unbekannte neue Produzenten, Chillhop kreiert immer wieder einen grossartigen Querschnitt an entspannten Produktionen. Für Essentials – Fall 2017 haben die Chillhoper 21 Tracks von 21 Beatbastlern auf zwei Platten pressen lassen. Auch wenn dieses herbstliche Doppel-Vinyl erst kurz vor Weihnachten in meinem lokalen Plattenregal erschien, das Ding macht wieder richtig Spass. Da ist wieder drin, was draufsteht: Entspannung pur. Favoriten: L’indécis – Le Sud, Flitz&Suppe – Level U und Aso – Soul Vibe.
Passend zu den anstehenden Weihnachtsfeierlichkeiten greife ich ganz tief in die digitale Instrumentalkiste und krame Brock Berrigan – White Christmas hervor. Damit wünsche ich Euch schon mal fröhliche und ruhige Xmas! Bleibt mir gewogen, Peace und rinjehaun :-)
Nach dem grossartigen Debüt Veranda kommt hier auch schon der zweite vinyle Streich vom Beatbastler aus Flensburg: snaer – drftwoods. Dieses mal zeichnet sich nicht Tapeinvader für die Pressung verantwortlich, sondern Vinyl Digital. VinDig hat 300 Kopien anfertigen lassen, die ihr hier bestellen könnt.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für “snaer – drftwoods”. Wie auch schon beim Album Veranda, erschien drftwoods zuerst als Kassette beim Tapeinvader (ausverkauft!). Wieder haben es ein paar Bonustracks auf die vor kurzem erschienene Platte geschafft. Schon allein deswegen lohnt sich die Anschaffung. Aber auch der „Rest“ der insgesamt 26 chilligen Beats und Interludes klingt IMHO auf dem Vinyl nochmals deutlich besser. Favoriten: breaks, seeya2 feat. sugi.wa und idntknw.
