jodu – crystallinus (kick a dope verse!)

Das russische Label kick a dope verse! mausert sich immer mehr zu einer guten Anlaufstelle für hervorragenden Instrumental Hip Hop. Die Kassette jodu – crystallinus (kadv004) kam gestern via Russian Post im Vinyl-41-HQ an, wurde sofort im heimischen Tape Deck abgespielt und für super befunden. Der Koblenzer Beatschmied jodu hat da wirklich ein voll dopes Boom Bap Album produziert. Das scheint sich rumgesprochen zu haben, denn beide Versionen der Kassette sind bereits ausverkauft. Aber gönnt Euch ruhig das digitale Beat Tape. Das bekommt ihr bei Bandcamp für den sagenhaft günstigen Anschaffungswiderstand von 1 USD (oder mehr).

Liphe – Reforestation (Village Live)

Pretty in pink. Dieses mal aber nicht die romantische Komödie aus dem Jahr 1986 (Molly Ringwald, alta!), sondern das neueste Machwerk von Village Live Records. Liphe – Reforestation nennt sich die Platte. Neben den 100 pinken Kopien wurden noch 250 Einheiten in schwarzes Vinyl gepresst. Für die Tape Junks ist auch eine passende Kassette verfügbar, ebenfalls in pretty pink. Alle drei Versionen kann man direkt auf der Label-Seite von Village Live käuflich erwerben. Für die Freunde digitaler Musik steht das Album auch bei Bandcamp zur Verfügung.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Liphe – Reforestation. Der britische Beatschmied und Multiinstrumentalist, der zur Zeit in Berlin beheimatet ist, hat für dieses Album 12 total entspannte instrumentale Tracks gebastelt. Der Einsatz von „echten“ Instrumenten gepaart mit jazzigen Lo-Fi Beats und verstaubten Samples ergibt ein überaus chilliges Album. Prädikat: Perfekte Kautschmusik.

Favoriten: Blue, Memories und Water

Mal wieder was neues von Aviary Bridge Records: Drchamploo – Burning Blossom. Der französische Beatschmied gibt mit dieser EP sein superbes Debüt beim niederländischen Label. Die 6 Tracks bieten instrumentale Langsamkeit von seiner besten Seite. Noch chilliger wäre kaum auszuhalten. Die jazzige Lo-Fi EP kann man sich bei Bandcamp in digitaler Form als „name your price“ Download / Stream abholen.

KarmawiN – Noir (POSTPARTUM.)

Da hat das Taschengeldmonster POSTPARTUM. wieder zugeschlagen. KarmawiN – Noir nennt sich das aktuelle Schmuckstück vom Label aus Edelsfeld, dass bereits im Januar 2018 als (mittlerweile ausverkauftes) Tape über E1K erschienen ist. Auch Katalognummer PPT-LP-11 gibt es wieder in zwei Varianten. 250 Kopien als translucent orange/black marble Vinyl und 150 Kopien als black Vinyl wurden gepresst. Beide Modelle sind im Online-Shop von POSTPARTUM. verfügbar, noch.

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für KarmawiN – Noir. Wieder mal hat POSTPARTUM. ein gutes Näschen für Design und Sound bewiesen. Der Kölner Felix Plien ist für das hübsche Coverlayout verantwortlich und der aus Lyon stammende Beatschmied KarmawiN für die exzellenten Beats. 11 instrumentale Tracks hat der Franzose für das Album produziert. Oldschoolige Hip Hop Beats und verstaubte Samples machen die Platte, die von SterilOne gemastert wurden, zu einem klanglichen Erlebnis. Aber hat man eigentlich was anderes erwartet? Prädikat: deutlich besser als französischer Wein.
