Stereo Utopia aka Spectateur hat Die Mutter Erde aka „La Terra Madre“ bereist und uns fette Tunes mitgebracht. Unter freundlicher Mithilfe von Melting Records wurden 10 Tracks in blue sky colored Polyvinylchlorid gepresst. Analog Utopia, quasi gesehen. Die Platte ist prall gefüllt mit großartiger Beatkunst zwischen Addis Ababa und Istanbul … zwischen Hip Hop und Trip Hop. Freshes Ding!

Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „La Nuit“, „Bahri“ und „Kormas“. Ihr könnt euch das musikalische und optische Schmuckstück direkt beim Label sowie bei den bekannten Verkaufsstellen wie HHV oder Vindig zulegen.

Meine Wertung
Der Kölner Produzent DJ Obsolete bleibt seinem Style treu, ohne dabei langweilig zu werden. 18 oldschoolige Tracks vom Feinsten sind auf „Kickin‘ Up Dust“ zu bewundern. Boom Bap Beats treffen auf verstaubt jazzige Samples. Ein weiteres Highlight der 100er Kallax Reihe. Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Rainy Dayz“, „Times up“ und „Respect the Architect“.

Heidelberg Rapresent: „Plastic – P=MC2“. Das erste Solo-Album von The Funky Mulatto ist im Vinyl-41-HQ gelandet. 18 Tracks wurden in schwarzes und weisses Polyvinylchlorid gepresst. Zu hören sind krachende Produktionen von Nottz, Teme77, Speechless, Kyo Itachi, Martin Stieber, unserem heutigen Protagonisten himself und einigen Beatschmieden mehr. On top gibt es fette Lines mit exzellenten Rhymes von Plastic und seinen Gästen wie The Artifacts, Fokis, Renee‘ Walker und Spiz. Die beiden Platten haben mich echt überrascht. Großartige Beats treffen auf den unkonventionellen Rapstyle von Plastic. Hamma!

Über das Independent Label Colemine Records bin ich bei meinen vinylen Ausflügen immer mal wieder gestolpert. Die Compilation Brighter Days Ahead aus dem Jahr 2020 hat mir dann deutlich aufgezeigt, welche Perlen aus Soul und Funk bei dem Label unterwegs sind.

Es wurde also mal so richtig Zeit, dass ich mich mit der Plattenbutze aus dem beschaulichen Loveland, Ohio, USA etwas näher beschäftige. Als erstes Ergebnis kann ich den folgenden kleinen Vinylstapel vorweisen. Und ich fürchte, das war erst der Anfang …

Knisternde Samples, krachende Drums und ein paar Cuts von Educut … das sind die kernigen Eckdaten vom großartigen Instrumental Album „Soupbox – Not Coming Home“. Vom Take Off bis zum Arrival, ein musikalischer Reisebericht mit Kopfnickergarantie.
