Tapes – Mein Kassettenregal

Jetzt auch noch Tapes? Eigentlich sollte es sich bei Vinyl 41 nur um die gute alte Schallplatte drehen. Da ich jetzt hin und wieder ein paar Kassetten im Briefkasten vorfinde, werde ich das ganze Thema ein kleines bisschen aufweichen. Auf einen weiteren Blog à la “Tape 41″ habe ich gerade keine Böcke. Und irgendwie passen Vinyl und Musikkassette ganz gut zusammen. Hauptsache analog!

Die drei Kassetten von Mr. Backside, bryZone_ybp und BsideByWale liefern wieder genau das ab, was ich eben so mag, chilligen instrumentalen Hip Hop. Besonders gut hat mir der Sampler M e d e e t a y s h u n von BsideByWale gefallen. Er bietet – neben blogbekannten Größen wie Wun Two und Handbook – einige für mich neue Produzenten, die ich vorher noch nicht auf dem Schirm hatte. So muss das!

El Jazzy Chavo – Today the sun falls in the east und Gadget – Mood Swings Instrumentals sind nicht mehr die frischesten Tapes, aber immer noch richtig gut. Besonders letzteres Album, die instrumentale Version von Lady Paradox & Gadget’s Mood Swings LP, hat es mir besonders angetan. Sowas von chillig und jazzig, da hat Millennium Jazz Music mal wieder richtig einen rausgehauen.

Über das Tape von Mr. Käfer brauche ich nicht viel berichten, Travelin habe ich schon an anderer Stelle als besonders wertvoll bewertet. DirtyBeauty hat zum 2. Geburtstag des Labels einen Sampler rausgehauen, der es in sich hat. Für die natürlich rasend schnell ausverkaufte Kassette „Two Year Anniversary“ haben einige der besten Produzenten des Hip-Hop-Genres ihre Beats beigesteuert. Wahnsinnstape! Für des englische Label Italdred geht Handbook an den Start, der mit „Devotion“ eine instrumentale EP vom Feinsten abgeliefert hat. Es ist mal wieder total schwer einen Sieger zu küren. Darum lasse ich es auch aka drei mal das oberste Treppchen.

Auch die Kassetten von Tapes #10 wissen durchweg zu gefallen. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich das Tape des Mexikaners Lagløs. „cosmic natives“, über Nekubi_Tapes veröffentlicht, bietet 34 sowas von chillige instrumentale Tracks … kaum auszuhalten. „Jay Alpha – Life Cycles“ und „Coach Motel & Rene Schier – RITUALS“ (Danke!) brauchen sich nicht zu verstecken. Absolut hörenswert. Alle drei Tapes sollten in keiner Sammlung fehlen.
