Fazit Tapes #6

DerRalle konserviert mit dem Tape „Am Strand“ den Sommer für das restliche Jahr. Das Ding ist eine richtige Gute-Laune-Kassette. DIGGINSACK haut mit „Beat Battle Compilation Vol. 1“ einen schönen Querschnitt der gleichnamigen FB-Gruppe („This is a chilled Group for HipHop Beatmakers who love the art of sampling.“) raus. Ich habe mit der Kassette wieder viele (für mich) neue Produzenten und Beatbastler entdeckt, die es jetzt zu beobachten gilt. Gern mehr davon! Vom schottischen Label HNDPCKD stammt „Milk & Honey“ von Cheeky Forty. Da geht so richtig der Funk ab. Die Tapes vom Stapel #6 sind wieder durchweg empfehlenswert. Daumen hoch.

Flakodiablo, Super Keller Allstars, Herb.sun – Tapes #5

Für Tapes #5 steigen Flakodiablo & Knowz, die Super Keller Allstars und Herb.sun in den Ring bzw. in das Kassettendeck. Dieses Line-up liest sich nicht nur verdammt gut, es klingt auch so.

Fazit Tapes #5

Wieder sind durchweg alle Kassetten eine persönliche Empfehlung von mir. Besonders gut gefallen hat mir das Tape „Flakodiablo & Knowz – From Da Last Corner“ aus dem Hause DirtyBeauty. Die beiden Südamerikaner haben rares Material zusammengekratzt und damit 40 Minuten vom feinsten Boombap produziert.

BTW: „… Doch der Verkaufstrend für Kassetten zeigt aufwärts – die jüngst veröffentlichte „Nielsen-Musik-Studie“ belegt, dass die Absatzzahlen für Musikkassetten im Jahr 2016 gegenüber dem Vorjahr um 74% höher lagen – es wurden 55.000 mehr Tapes verkauft als 2015.“

Das die beiden Tapes von Millennium Jazz Music („The Bare Dusty Beat Tape“ und „Fifth Element“) gute und jazzige Beats bieten, habe ich eigentlich genau so erwartet. Nichts anderes kennt man vom Londoner Label. Aber der „lo-fi daydreamer“ PRGMAT aus Lettland war für mich bis neulich eine kleine Wundertüte. Geöffnet und auch für sehr gut befunden. Unbedingt mehr davon. Danke!

Auch der dritte Schwung an Tapes macht richtig viel Spaß. Besonders gut gefällt mir „Le Corniaud“ von Turkish SoulCat. Hörspielfeeling mit Louis de Funès trifft auf satte Beats, was will man mehr?!
