Straight Outta Medellin, Columbia, South America: „Soul AM – AM Life“. Das Album ist Mitte Oktober 2019 über das Mörschbacher Label Vinyl Digital (VinDig410) erschienen. 300 Kopien wurden in schwarzes Polyvinylchlorid gepresst. Die Cover-Fotos stammen Christopher Ratter. Für das Design / Layout steht OneTips gerade. Abgemixt wurde die Platte von Daniel Obregon. Das Mastering hat DJ Perez übernommen.
Mal wieder ein Album, dass mir zuerst durch das überaus hübsche Cover aufgefallen und dann durch die dauerrotierende Musik hängengeblieben ist. 16 Tracks hat der kolumbianische Beatschmied aus dem XQRSNS-Umfeld (Excursions Records / Brous One) für „AM Life“ produziert. Extrem lässige Beats mit Samples aus Soul und Jazz sind dabei entstanden. Dazu gesellen sich sanfte und perfekt passende Klavier- und Saxophonklänge. Kopfnickermukke mit Jazzkelleratmosphäre vom Feinsten. Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „131 West 3rd St.“, „Bedford Ave“ und „Bag’s Groove“.
