Über die Golden Ticket Tapes wollte ich schon lange mal ein paar Wörter verlieren. Warum also nicht jetzt? »Platform and magazine for lovers of finest instrumental hiphop, inspiring soundtracks, urban culture and laidback days.« So beschreibt man sich selbst. Zudem haben der oder die Macher noch eine andere Passion und die heisst Beat Tapes. Die Golden Ticket Tapes 001 – 003 sind bisher erschienen. Produziert wurden die ersten drei digitalen Alben von jeweils einem Beatschmied. IAMPAUL, Alfred Quest und Tilmann Jarmer heissen die Protagonisten, die richtig guten und chilligen Instrumental Hip Hop abgeliefert haben. Mit The Big Payback vol.4: Breaking Even geht der Dank an die Seite Strictly Beats, die sich komplett dem Thema Instrumental Hip Hop verschrieben hat. „No Emcees. Just Instrumentals.“ Vol. 4 bietet 17 Tracks, die sich genau an dieses Motto halten. Den Sampler kann man sich als „naem your price“ Download / Stream an Land ziehen. Vielleicht schafft es Vinyl 41 auch mal irgendwann auf das Cover dieser Compilation. (Man wird ja noch träumen dürfen! ;-))

ist das neueste Werk des australischen Beatschmieds, der hier bei Vinyl 41 schon mit dem Tape 60 K unterwegs ist. Veröffentlicht wurde das Instrumental Hip Hop Album als USB Drive über das Label Ploom. Auch wenn sich mir der Sinn dieses USB-Dings immer noch nicht so richtig erschliesst, hübsch sieht das Teil schon aus. Aber der Preis von 35 US-Währungseinheiten (+ 15 US-Dollar Versand) ist dann alles andere als schön. Zum Glück kann man das 23 Tracks starke Album auch digital als „name your price“ Download / Stream erwerben.

Das Label Intelligent Sound, von denen ich schon RITUALS im Kassettenregal zu liegen habe, hat mit GOODTAPES ein neues Projekt gestartet. Die Erlöse von Intelligent Sound – GOODTAPES Vol.1 und den Nachfolgern werden ausgewählten Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen gespendet. Gute Aktion. Leider sind mir die Versandkosten für die Kassette viel zu hoch. Deshalb unterstütze ich das ganze mit dem Erwerb des digitalen Albums. Aber nicht nur allein wegen der guten Sache, denn das Instrumental Hip Hop Tape von Weirddough und Rick Maun ist zudem wirklich gut.
