Total Records – Vinyl & Fotografie im C/O Berlin

C/O Berlin präsentiert zum ersten Mal in Deutschland die Ausstellung mit ca. 500 Exponaten, die das vielseitige Zusammenspiel zwischen Fotografie und Musik von den 1960er bis in die 2000er Jahre aufzeigt. Diese visuelle Kompilation wurde von Antoine de Beaupré, Serge Vincendet und Sam Stourdzé kuratiert.

Vor kurzem habe ich mir die Ausstellung „Total Records – Vinyl & Fotografie“ im C/O Berlin angesehen. Was soll ich sagen, ich war schlicht und einfach begeistert. Antoine de Beaupré, Serge Vincendet und Sam Stourdzé haben mit den ausgestellten knapp 500 bekannten und (mir) unbekannten Vinyl Covern von 1960 bis in die 2000er eine schöne Auswahl getroffen.

Total Records - Vinyl & Fotografie

Mir war gar nicht immer bewusst, welche Fotografen und Musiker bzw. Bands für die Cover zusammengearbeitet haben. Robert Frank und The Rolling Stones, Helmut Newton und INXS, Anton Corbijn und U2 (ok, das wusste ich doch!), Jean-Paul Goude und Grace Jones oder Andy Warhol und John Lennon, um nur mal einige Paarungen zu nennen.

Besonders gut haben mir zwei Themen gefallen: die „deutsche Ecke“ mit Record Sleeves von den Ärzten, Trio, Grönemeyer und der Nina Hagen Band und die „zensierte Ecke“ mit Jimi Hendrix, The Mama’s And The Papa’s und Roxy Music. Gerade hier war mal wieder das prüde Amerika zu beobachten. Da reichte schon eine simple Kloschüssel, um ein Cover zu verbieten.

Die Ausstellung „Total Records – Vinyl & Fotografie“ im C/O Berlin läuft noch bis zum 23.04.2017. Wenn ihr mal wieder in der grossen Stadt seid, dann schaut euch das unbedingt mal an. Es lohnt sich.
