Im Juni 2019 ist das Album „Nickelman – Elements“ über das kanadische Label Urbnet (URBNET1262) erschienen. Lange Zeit hatte ich die Platte auf diversen Wunschlisten abgelegt und dann war sie grossflächig vergriffen. Alles wie immer. Zufällig habe ich die Blue Vinyl Edition dann bei WOWHD gefunden, wo auch noch ein paar Kopien rumliegen. Yuki Kitano aka Nickelman hat für „Elements“ insgesamt 17 Tunes produziert. Die lofiigen Hip Hop Beats des japanischen Soundtüftlers bestechen mit ihren gut gewählten Samples aus Jazz und Soul. Kopfnicker garantiert!

Im September 2017 hat Moka Only das Album Concert For One veröffentlicht, dass er nicht nur produziert, sondern auch höchstpersönlich vollgerappt hat. Knapp ein Jahr später liegen die passenden Instrumentals auf meinem Plattenteller. Läuft! Auch die raplose Variante ist über das Label Urbnet Records erschienen. Käuflich erwerben kann man das gute Stück über Bandcamp und HHV Records. Für die Tapeheads liegt auch die passende Kassette parat.

Wertung

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Moka Only – Concert for One (Instrumentals). Der umtriebige Beat Smith aus Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada hat die Instrumentals quasi zweitverwertet. Guter move, für mich jedenfalls. Denn die Beats machen auch (oder gerade) in der sprachlosen Variante total viel Spass. Die 20 Tracks sind staubig, roh und jazzig. Genau so, wie man es von der Indy-Legende erwartet.

Favoriten: Featuring Drake, Right There und Real Simple Real Mellow
