Heute mal wieder ein kurzer Abstecher nach Ungarn. „leplezett – szakadék“ nennt sich das Werk unseres aktuellen Protagonisten, dass über Blunt Shelter Records (BLNT-005) erschienen ist. Labeltypisch wurde die Platte über QRATES vorfinanziert, gepresst und ausgeliefert. Das Crowdfundingziel von 100 Exemplaren wurde im Juni 2018 mit 8 Kopien knapp übertroffen. Sauber!

16 relativ kurze und bodenständige Instrumental Hip Hop Beats hat der ungarische Produzent für seinen ersten analogen Datenträger aus Polyvinylchlorid produziert. Die jazzigen und gut ausgesuchte Samples passen perfekt zum Sound, den leplezett für „szakadék“ kreiert hat. Das Album ist sehr ausgeglichen und kann deshalb sorgenfrei in einem Ritt mit 45RPM durchgehört werden. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „háromegy“, „úton“ und „némán“. Ein paar Kopien sind noch in den Online-Shops von HHV Records und VinDig verfügbar.

Die EP „BluntOne – Space is the Place“ (BLNT-004) ist im März 2018 digital über das ungarische Label Blunt Shelter Records erschienen. Eine direkt anschliessend über QRATES gestartete Crowdfunding-Kampagne hatte das Ziel von 200 Platten. Final wurden dann sogar 220 Kopien in zehnzölliges Polyvinylchlorid gepresst. Seit September 2018 rotiert eine davon im Vinyl-41-HQ.

10 total entspannte Tracks hat BluntOne für den 10-Zöller „Space is the Place“ produziert. Chillige Beats mit jazzigen Samples sind auch für diesen Extended Player das Grundrezept des ungarischen Beatschmieds. Obacht: Bitte das Vinyl mit 45RPM abspielen. Ansonsten wird es einen Nummer zu relaxt. Danke! Zwei durchaus bekannte Gäste sind auch mit an Bord. The Drumlord und tusken. durften für jeweils ein Stück an den Sound-Geräten mithelfen. Meine Wertung: 8/10. Favoriten: „Equilibrium“ und „Ganymede“.

Über das Budapester Hip Hop Label Blunt Shelter Records, dass immer wieder für frische Beatschmiede und Beats verantwortlich ist, wurde das Album „Soul:Ctrl – Reaching Deeper“ (BLNT-010) auf die Plattenteller der Instrumental-Welt losgelassen. Kurz nach der digitalen Veröffentlichung im September 2019, wurde über eine Crowdfunding-Kampagne bei QRATES eine Pressung in schwarzes Gold gesichert. Das anvisierte Ziel von 100 Kopien wurde mit 112 finalen Exemplaren leicht übertroffen.

Das Vinyl-Debüt des in Hove, UK ansässigen Produzenten mit ungarischen Wurzeln umfasst insgesamt 12 Tracks. Die Beats schwanken leicht zwischen Electro-Lo-Fi und samplebasiertem Golden Era Hip Hop hin und her. Interessante Mischung, die das Album sehr abwechslungsreich erscheinen lässt. Darf ich vorstellen? Das dritte Vinyl vom ungarischen Label Blunt Shelter Records: The Drumlord – Sons of the City. Erneut hat man QRATES mit dem Crowdfunding und der anschliessenden Produktion beauftragt. 200 Kopien wurden innerhalb von drei Monaten vorfinanziert, gepresst und unter die Viynlliebhaber gebracht. HHV und Vinyl Digital haben auch eingekauft. Ein paar Exemplare von der limited Edition sind noch gelistet. Zuschlagen. Bei Discogs wird es teuerer ;-)

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für The Drumlord – Sons of the City. Der Beatschmied aus Budapest hat 16 Instrumental Hip Hop Tracks auf die Nadeln der Welt losgelassen. Als Genre wurde vom Label „electrosynthlofijazzboombap“ definiert. Passt ganz gut. Das auf StackOne – Parallax und Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab folgende Album kommt sehr entspannt rüber und verkürzt die Wartezeit auf den ersten Label-Sampler. BTW: Bombed in the Blunt Shelter könnte noch etwas Unterstützung gebrauchen. Haut rein!

Favoriten: Loan Hearts, Child of the Ghetto und Welcome to the Void

Nach diversen Solo-Alben haut das ungarische Label Blunt Shelter Records mit Bombed in the Blunt Shelter das erste Compilation Album raus: »We proudly present our first compilation album: Bombed in the Blunt Shelter. The double 45 rpm vinyl is loaded with heavy, dirty, yet relaxing instrumentals.«

Das Doppel-Vinyl soll (hoffentlich erfolgreich) über QRATES vorfinanziert werden. Geplant ist die Pressung von 300 Kopien. Die Crowdfunding Aktion läuft bis zum 08.08.2018. Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Bluntone – Tales of 16 Pads. Die Platte bietet labeltypisch, vom ersten bis zum letzten der 16 Tracks, chilligen Instrumental Hip Hop. Der ungarische Beatschmied hat für das Vinyl total entspannte Beats gebastelt, die durch jazzige und knisternde Samples perfekt unterstützt werden. Idealer Soundtrack für die abendliche Durchatmung auf der heimischen Kautsch.

Als ich den Beitrag zum digitalen Beat Tape Mujo情 – Clouds geschrieben habe, da ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich noch das Vinyl Mujo情 – Reincarnation auf dem Todo-Stapel zu liegen habe. Jetzt hatte, denn here we go. Das Album Reincarnation erschien über Vinyl Digital (VinDig298) und ist auf 300 Kopien limitiert. Das sehr hübsche Artwork des Covers stammt vom Künstler selbst.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Mujo情 – Reincarnation. 28 relativ kurze Tracks hat der ungarische Beatschmied für das Album produziert. Das Vinyl lädt durch seine atmosphärischen Beats, funkigen Grooves und jazzigen Samples zur entspannten Haltung auf der Kautsch ein. Tatkräftige Unterstützung fand Mujo情 dabei von den Beat-Kollegen Monma, Mr. Brown, Smuv und Plusma. Eine sehr chillige Platte, die bei Instrumental Hip Hop Fans einen Platz im Regal finden sollte.

Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab ist nach The Flip & Dip Sessions schon das zweite Vinyl vom ungarischen Beatschmied, dass hier bei Vinyl 41 im Umlauf ist. Gleichzeitig ist es auch die zweite Platte von Blunt Shelter Records (BLNT-002). Das Label werde ich mal im Auge behalten. Dippin in the Lab wurde wieder über QRATES vorfinanziert. Lediglich 100 Kopien wurden gepresst. Bei HHV und Vinyl Digital sind noch ein paar Exemplare am Lager.

Meine Wertung: 8/10 für Herring Franky – Dippin in the Lab. Auch das zweite Vinyl des ungarischen Produzenten macht richtig Spass. Aber erst nachdem man herausgefunden hat, dass die Platte mit 45 rpm läuft. Vorher klang das Vinyl überhaupt nicht gut. Ein kleiner Hinweis auf dem Cover wäre schon schön gewesen. Die 20 – teilweise sehr kurzen – Tracks bieten chilligen Instrumental Hip Hop, der durch analoge Samples aus den 90er Jahren sehr gut in Szene gesetzt wird. Perfekter Soundtrack für die nachmittägliche Relaxung auf der heimischen Kautsch.

Favoriten: Changin View, Dip 4 Kazi & Madlib und Sv Esque

Da der Nachwuchs seinen Mittagsschlaf in der Nähe des Plattendrehers vollzieht und keine Störung duldet, gibt es für euch mal wieder was digitales auf die Ohren. Mujo情 – Clouds nennt sich das neueste Machwerk des ungarischen Beatschmieds. Nach dem Vinyl Reincarnation ist das 12 Tracks starke Instrumental Hip Hop Album meine nächste Begegnung mit den chilligen und jazzigen Beats von Mujo情. Wieder ein grossartiges Release und wieder schade, dass es „nur“ als Download / Stream verfügbar ist. Oder immerhin …

Das Tape Veks – Consolation war meine erste Anschaffung aus dem Hause Missing Children Records. Herring Franky – The Flip & Dip Sessions (MCR003) nennt sich das nächste Album vom Label aus San Diego und ist der nächste vinyle Volltreffer. Die Platte wurde von Ivo Statinski gemastert. 250 Kopien wurden in der Tschechischen Republik gepresst. Die ersten 100 Stück als „random blended colour“ Vinyl (da gab es wohl Probleme) und der Rest 150 in „traditional black wax“.

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für Herring Franky – The Flip & Dip Sessions. Auf dieses Album habe ich mich richtig vorgefreut und der Beatschmied aus Ungarn hat mich in keinster Weise enttäuscht. Als „Frühbesteller“ hatte ich eigentlich auf eine farbige Platte gehofft, aber auch die schwarze Variante ist mehr als ok. Die Platte ist prallgefüllt mit 18 Tracks vom feinsten Boombap inklusive chilligen Beats und jazzigen Samples. Grossartiges Vinyl. Das macht Lust auf mehr.

Favoriten: Phat Enuff, One 4 Phife Dawg und That Snare Doe
