Der im schönen Luxemburg stationierte Produzent mit kolumbianischen Wurzeln hat für sein Vinyl 10 Tracks produziert, die sich durch knackige Drums und feinste Boom Bap Beats hervortun. Gemastert wurde die Platte von SterilOne at Staub Audio Engineering. Hip Hop Gütesigel! Lediglich 100 Kopien wurden gepresst. Deshalb: gönnt euch das Ding, bevor es weg ist!

Luxemburg im Haus. Nach SH’NAPAN im Jahr 2016 hat es mit Headmasta endlich mal wieder ein Künstler aus dem Groussherzogtum Lëtzebuerg ins Vinyl-41-HQ geschafft. „For forgotten memories“ nennt sich die Platte und ist ein absolutes Boom Bap Brett! 14 Hip Hop Instrumentals vom Allerfeinsten haben es auf das Vinyl, dass über De Läbbel veröffentlicht wurde, geschafft. Krachende Drums und beste Samples aus den Jazz- und Funkkisten unseres heutigen Protagonisten … großartiges Debüt vom Headmasta!

Meine Wertung

Meine Wertung: 9/10. Favoriten: „Good advice“, „Rock this“ und „The Soul Brother“. Die Platte ist auf insgesamt 200 Kopien (black und red/black marbled) limitiert und ist bei Bandcamp oder HHV verfügbar.

„SH’NAPAN – Pagane“ ist mal wieder so eine Platte, die ich ohne Bandcamp wahrscheinlich nie entdeckt hätte. Das wäre wiederum sehr schade gewesen, denn das Debüt Album des Luxemburgers ist ein echter Knaller. 21 instrumentale Hip Hop Tracks, die es wirklich in sich haben. Das Double Vinyl, dass in schickem Gatefold und weissen Analogdatenträgern daher kommt und auf 100 Kopien limitiert ist, ist beim Label Chez.Kito.Kat Records erschienen (CKK055).

The newest artist signed to Chez.Kito.Kat Records, SH’NAPAN, is a producer of electronic music already known as a member of the band ARTABAN. Although his influences have shifted since he produced for ARTABAN, his solo work features predominantly Hip Hop and Downtempo instrumental references.

Cover / Vinyl

Das Gatefold Cover ist wirklich sehr gelungen. Das Artwork stammt von Sh’napan himself. Die Photo Credits gehen an breakfast.lu. Auf der Frontseite ist eine getaggte Göttin aka Citroën DS und ein Junge mit Hoodie und Hasen zu sehen. Die Mitte des Gatefolds ist überaus rot. Erneut erkennt man den Jungen mit Hoodie. Ebenfalls abgedruckt sind die 21 Titel und das obligatorische Kleingedruckte. Die Vinyl Label A und C beinhalten das Kleingedruckte in rot auf weissem Grund. Auf B und D verfolgt uns erneut der Hoodie Junge. Das Design der Platte ist wirklich sehr gelungen. Es macht richtig Spass die Schallplatten aus der Hülle zu befreien.

Wertung

Meine Wertung: 9/10 für „SH’NAPAN – Pagane“. Großartiges Debut-Album. Die Messlatte für kommende Platten ist damit unheimlich hoch angelegt. Schon der erste Track „Flex“ haut richtig gut rein und das setzt sich Titel um Titel fort. Die ganze Platte ist richtig stark. Neben dem Opener hat mich „Triple Shot“ sehr begeistert. Erinnert stellenweise an Underwater Love. Mein Tipp: komplett durchhören. Beide Vinyls machen richtig Spaß. Da hat Luxemburg mal einen rausgehauen.
